Dr. Jean ROCKS!, November 22, 2006
If you've never heard of Dr. Jean get to her website ASAP because you're missing out big time!! I am a Pre-K teacher and I first heard of Dr. Jean in 2000. I can honestly say she has changed the way I teach forever, her ideas and music are so inspiring your students can't help but learn. If you've never been to one of her workshops it's a MUST! I have found her ideas especially helpful for ESL students, struggling students, or those who are "hard to reach".
The CD Nursery Rhymes & Good Ol' Times is great for my ESL students because the songs aren't too fast for them to hear the words and they learn them more quickly. In addition to using all of her nursery rhyme songs our class also enjoys "Home on the Range" during our western unit every year. Her version of Wheels on the Bus is the only one I like and we use it at the beginning of every year in my classroom. Her "Three Little Kittens" is the only version I have ever found, and believe me- I've looked. My students LOVE Dr. Jean!
