Excellent review of labs and tests
The Nurse's Manual of Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests is a great manual to have on the unit and at home. It gives complete descriptions of the tests, with helpful nursing considerations. I work in a hospital setting where many labs and tests are not done, so a reference like this one is invaluable.

Adequate, but not a quick reference.
Like the title says, it gets the job done, but only if you have the time to sit down and dig through it. Not for on the fly interpretation of results. I used it for my care plans and even then it was hard to deal with. I encountered trouble deciphering the casues/effects of many tests and ended up borrowing another book which I found more helpful.
