4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Before you buy this book, you need to think of why you need it. I purchased it because I am a student nurse going through clinicals weekly. I have a regular drug book, but I wanted something a little more convenient (and pocket-size) to take with me because sometimes new meds are added after I have made my med cards. So far, this book has had all the last minute meds I've...

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Edition
I purchased the kindle edition so that I would have it as a quick reference to all my other nursing textbooks, however, while it has a lot of great info it is not set up so you can search the drugs! It is too hard to flip through the locations to get to the drug you want. The charts and drug classes are easily searchable through the table of contents, but not each drug...

Before you buy this book, you need to think of why you need it. I purchased it because I am a student nurse going through clinicals weekly. I have a regular drug book, but I wanted something a little more convenient (and pocket-size) to take with me because sometimes new meds are added after I have made my med cards. So far, this book has had all the last minute meds I've needed to look up. Just remember (like the front cover says...) it only has about 1000 of the MOST POPULAR so there may occasionally be something you need to look up using the internet or a larger drug book. Otherwise, this little book is quite handy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Edition, October 20, 2010

I purchased the kindle edition so that I would have it as a quick reference to all my other nursing textbooks, however, while it has a lot of great info it is not set up so you can search the drugs! It is too hard to flip through the locations to get to the drug you want. The charts and drug classes are easily searchable through the table of contents, but not each drug! GR! I had no idea I couldn't search the drugs within the book or else I wouldn't have purchased it. Wouldn't recommend kindle edition. ... Also you need to know lots of abbreviations to read it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful and great size., October 16, 2009

Thought obviously not like having a traditional nurses drug guide...this handy pocket size guide fits in my scrub pocket for quick reference to common drugs. Still stuck if you need to look up something unusual. Such is life anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, November 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This Pocket Drug Guide 2010 is pretty good but because they are crammed for space and a lot of info, the writing is tiny and they cram it all in there with a lot of abbreviations so you better know what they all mean in order to understand it. It's small enough for your jacket or large side shirt pocket but I haven't really opened it very much because I have been carrying my Med Surg pocket guide around more to help me with assessments since I'm still in nursing school. I think it's a product worth having if you want to learn all the abbreviations that are in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great drug guide for the nurse/nursing student, November 30, 2010
By
This review is from: Nurse's Pocket Drug Guide 2010 (Paperback)
Being a 2010 edition, it has the latest drugs in it. It's a great reference for on the job or a nursing student. Easy to find, although not tabbed. It's easy to tab it yourself(like tabbing Bible pages). I got mine used in excellent condition for a fair price. It's worth purchasing this one over the more expensive guides that are more "popular" or that they mention in nursing school.

3.0 out of 5 stars 2010...sure isn't updated...disappointed, September 25, 2009

I have bought different medical drug books but was not happy because they did not have all the meds I wanted to look up. Well, I will have to keep looking for that book because this one, for being printed for most recent updates, sure isn't up to date! I was just prescribed a newer medication but it is not in this book...I found out it is in my 1990 book! Makes no sense. If I'd known this, I would not have bought this book.

I bought this for my daughter who is always calling and asking about medications she's been prescribed. Now she says she needs a book with pictures.
