This review is from: Nursing Care Plans: Guidelines for Individualizing Client Care Across the Life Span (Paperback)
Nursing Care Plans: Nursing Diagnosis and Intervention Nursing Care Plans: Nursing Diagnosis and Intervention is better.
I have not found an oppertunity to use this book; I have to write a care plan every week and use the above book instead. The contents are not listed with NANDA diagnosis', instead they are listed with problems that are too specific. Example: Last week I had to do a care plan with the diagnosis Anxiety. In this book, my choices of care plans to look at are Anxiety related to: alcohol, angina, benign prostatic hyperplasma, hyperthyroidism, on and on with specific choices. Nursing Care Plans: Nursing Diagnosis and Intervention has Anxiety. When I go to that section in the book it has the NANDA deffinition, related factors, defining characteristics, Assessments, Interventions ... education .... much better for my purposes. In this book, that I'm reviewing, the chapters are; lots of information about how to write a care plan .. then >> systems with problems as sub-chapters > Cardiovascular Hypertension Heart failure Angina MI Dysrhythmias (More) Respiratory COPD Pneumonia Lung cancer (more) Another book I find more useful is Lippincott's Manual of Psychiatric Nursing Care Plans The Nurse's Pocket Guide: Diagnoses, Prioritized Interventions and Rationales by the same authors is also very good. Best Regards! September 12, 2011 I'm in my second year of a 2 year RN program and I STILL don't like this book - I think I like it even less and have had very little opportunity to use it - don't waste your money!

This book has great info in it, but it is organized very oddly, which makes it difficult to find exactly what your looking for, I ended up purchasing another (Mosby's) care planning book that I found to be way more helpful and easier to use.

this book was very helpful in learning how to put a care plan and nursing diagonsis together. It would be good for a classroom or study setting. it is not an easy size to carry to a clinic or hospital setting although it would be a great book to have at a nursing station to referance.

I really like this Care Plan book. The CD is invaluable. My only complaint is that you have to load the CD to look up careplans by medical diagnosis. It has been very helpful in my first semester of Nursing School. Hopefully it will continue to help me write careplans.
