Editorial Reviews

Review

"The book provides concise guidelines through the nursing process and I found the nursing interventions and considerations most helpful. The dosage and routes are well set out, including special doses for renal drugs, as well as compatibility and treatment of overdose." Nursing Standard, April 22 2009

"The cover of the book informs the reader that it has 'everything you need to administer drugs', and indeed looking at the individual drug entries in the book they have an emphasis on administering drugs as opposed to prescribing drugs...The flyleaves of the book contain useful information about drug dosage calculations, body surface area formulae, and syringe mixing drug compatibilities." Nurse Education in Practice, 2009

An excellent drug reference. The drug monographs are well written and include more complete information than found in many other references including herb interactions and unlabeled uses. The do-not-confuse information is also well researched and well written. Even though this guide is targeted at nurses, the information here is presented in an accessible format readable by most anyone. The physical size of the book is also nice - small enough to be easily portable (not like a PDR!) the book is physically smaller than it looks in the Amazon picture. The only suggested improvement is if this book was available in an electronic format.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for Nurses!!!, September 22, 2008
This review is from: Mosby's 2009 Nursing Drug Reference, 22e (SKIDMORE NURSING DRUG REFERENCE) (Paperback)
This is the greatest drug book!!! I am an LPN and I have to say, I wish I had known about these books before I went to nursing school. I think all people that take medicine should have one... It is a very useful tool. Too many people depend on the doctors to know whats best for them and don't even worry about what the medicine could be doing to them. Try this book out and you'll see just how much you don't know about the medicine you may be taking.
