Book Description

March 12, 2008
Nurture (verb): 1. To give tender care and protection. 2. To encourage to grow, develop, thrive, and be successful.
This beautifully describes what God's daughters so desperately need. In this heartfelt work, Lisa explains how women of all ages must awaken and restore their capacity to give and receive nurture.
The need for this indelible force is far more urgent than we know. Is it possible we are too busy surviving to assure that the vulnerable among us thrive? Are we too guarded, wounded, and afraid to open our lives to the nurture of others? What can be done to reestablish this language of the feminine heart? It is time women are healed and empowered.
If you have never experienced nurture, this is your season. Lisa's stirring message shows you how to make these vital heart connections. We need each other's comfort and assurance as we define ourselves, find our voice, and begin to fulfill God's purpose on Earth.
In Lisa's own words: "There is such a resonance in my spirit . . . this is in fact our season to grow, develop, and thrive. Heaven is passionately and purposefully reconnecting with our wounded, war-torn earth and the people who inhabit her. In this season I believe the daughters of God will prove integral agents. Nurture is not expensive-it is expansive. The life of everyone enlarges when it is added. As this happens, we will cease to merely function-we will indeed flourish."

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing, March 21, 2008
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
As a motherless generation cries out for someone to pour into them, 'Nurture' is a healing balm to the hurt abandonment has caused. As I turned page after page (I couldn't put it down - it only took me 2 days to get through!), I was again reminded that I have a purpose, I have a plan, and women like Lisa are going before me to pave the path I will walk. Whether you are a daughter, a mother or a grandmother, you will be riveted to your core, as Lisa touches on issues that have the ability to heal the generations and once again bring unity to this which has been lost. Let us rise up as women, learn how to nurture and be nurtured. For we are all paving the way for those behind us, and walking on the path prepared by those ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars For any female wanting to give back or get more, September 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
This book is for all women, christian and non. It encourages us to uplift, help, and nurture friendships, relationships, and every day communication with other women including strangers. It shows there is such a competitive battle between women in today's society, that we would rather gossip, tear down, and be enemies with our fellow woman, when instead we should nurture them. We should not only nurture ourselves as women, but nurture all little girls and women because there are so many that did not have mothers, or did not have daughters who seek that.

This book shows you how to be a mother, a friend, or a daughter to someone who needs one of those. You don't have to be someones biological mother or child to be their mother or child figure. It tells you how to overcome gossip, jealousy, and other petty things that are common amongst women. Every man, woman, and child long to be nurtured, despite the front they put on or how they may act. If you ever had a distant parent or child, and long to give that relationship to someone else, to help them out- this book shows you how that is God's plan. That whenever you have an opportunity to be a friend, be a mother (help/caregiver), be a daughter (let someone care for you, and guide you) , that you should do it, and this will help you thrive in life.

I really enjoyed this book, all women, and girls should read it from a young age to the oldest age. Everyone of us has it in us to be either a mother or daughter to a stranger, to a friend, to anyone who needs our help. This will help women flourish verses constantly having war between each other. Very happy with this purchase, would highly recommend, and I will be re-reading. This would be a fantastic read for high school girls, or for the oldest mother who thinks her cause is lost. No matter what age you can always nurture.
