Life changing,
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
As a motherless generation cries out for someone to pour into them, 'Nurture' is a healing balm to the hurt abandonment has caused. As I turned page after page (I couldn't put it down - it only took me 2 days to get through!), I was again reminded that I have a purpose, I have a plan, and women like Lisa are going before me to pave the path I will walk. Whether you are a daughter, a mother or a grandmother, you will be riveted to your core, as Lisa touches on issues that have the ability to heal the generations and once again bring unity to this which has been lost. Let us rise up as women, learn how to nurture and be nurtured. For we are all paving the way for those behind us, and walking on the path prepared by those ahead.

The truths and ideas in this book are for women in every season of life. NURTURE has really encouraged me to step outside myself and more intentionally connect with those around me. Lisa has a way of speaking to the heart of a matter in a deep and meaningful way. She shows us that women have the unique ability to release compassion and change the world... its powerful and super challenging!

This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
This book is for all women, christian and non. It encourages us to uplift, help, and nurture friendships, relationships, and every day communication with other women including strangers. It shows there is such a competitive battle between women in today's society, that we would rather gossip, tear down, and be enemies with our fellow woman, when instead we should nurture them. We should not only nurture ourselves as women, but nurture all little girls and women because there are so many that did not have mothers, or did not have daughters who seek that.
This book shows you how to be a mother, a friend, or a daughter to someone who needs one of those. You don't have to be someones biological mother or child to be their mother or child figure. It tells you how to overcome gossip, jealousy, and other petty things that are common amongst women. Every man, woman, and child long to be nurtured, despite the front they put on or how they may act. If you ever had a distant parent or child, and long to give that relationship to someone else, to help them out- this book shows you how that is God's plan. That whenever you have an opportunity to be a friend, be a mother (help/caregiver), be a daughter (let someone care for you, and guide you) , that you should do it, and this will help you thrive in life. I really enjoyed this book, all women, and girls should read it from a young age to the oldest age. Everyone of us has it in us to be either a mother or daughter to a stranger, to a friend, to anyone who needs our help. This will help women flourish verses constantly having war between each other. Very happy with this purchase, would highly recommend, and I will be re-reading. This would be a fantastic read for high school girls, or for the oldest mother who thinks her cause is lost. No matter what age you can always nurture.

I am not a religious person but there is always an element to Lisa Beveres books that I connect with. The bottom line is everyone can relate to truth. NURTURE, is a perfect example of Lisa Beveres willingness to be bold and speak the truth. I have never felt more free and empowered as a women. I know that NOW IS THE TIME to write my life and connect with others around me. Read this book.

Nurture TOPS Nature,
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
While it is clear that physical characteristics are inherited, it is still a debate today if an individual's behavior, intelligence, and personality are more impacted by their nurture vs their nature.
Webster's Dictionary defines "Nurture" as: 1. to give tender care and protection to a young child, animal, or plant, helping it to grow and develop. 2. to encourage somebody or something to grow, develop, thrive, and be successful. I now realize after reading Lisa Bevere's book 'Nurture', that I am flourishing today only because God has positioned me under the nurturing care of a spiritual-mother; who was watching, waiting, and believing in me. I needed someone to say "You can do it because I've done it", and recognize my ability to be more than I was. God has placed the desire to nurture those around us on the inside of every woman. Even if it's something you've never had for yourself- it is available and attainable for every woman as it's outlined so clearly and practically throughout `Nurture'. Lisa always relays her messages so personally; it's just not possible for you to read this book and not be changed!

And then FINALLY I was ready,

This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Kindle Edition)
Okay, I bought this book about two and a half years ago after sensing that there was something to this nurture thing. The word had been coming to me over and over again, so I started to look for a good Christ centered book to help me learn more about me, and possibly awaken some passions with in me surrounding the subject. I found this book and was so excited, however I read about four chapters through and then just became well, uninterested. It seemed as though the book could not keep my attention. Well I'm happy to say, that almost three years later, I've never gotten rid of that book because the subject was just too important to me. I picked it back up and read it from the beginning and what could I say besides AWESOME!!! I enjoyed the format including easy to read definitions, scriptures and quotes and the content a mixture of her heart and experience and some good bible study. With that said I must say if Nurture is a subject you're interested in and you have a feeling that there is something more to this "Love and Womanhood thing" this is a must read for you, if not now then maybe a little bit later.

help for the hurting,
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
I was so happy that Lisa addressed peer-to-peer relationships.
After reading NURTURE I started seeing my own peer-to-peer relationships growing, as I let my guard down and started to realize that I have some amazing things to offer those around me. It's helping me work through the rejection I have often felt in peer relationships. As Lisa says, this is the time to address the importance of holy, right and encouraging peer relationships with other women and those around us.

Finding the mentor you need,
This review is from: Nurture: Give and Get What You Need to Flourish (Hardcover)
Nurture helped me realise I was going to the wrong people for advice. As a result of this message I started to look for wise people who had a history of giving sound advice. I then sought out and developed connections with people who I really respect. They are now truly helping me to develop my giftings and find fulfillment beyond what I thought could be experienced.
