4.0 out of 5 stars Easiest product to help stop obsessive licking
The good news: This is the first product that actually focuses on physically blocking the dog from licking the exact spot on his/her body that has become a problem spot. All others are either huge bulky collars that may or may not work (our dog would lay his paw on a pillow which would allow him to reach his hot spot while still wearing his "satelite dish" collar). This product did nothing at all to alleviate the incessant licking. I still have 4 of them left. I have tried everything and nothing works. I think it's time for Mr. Lamp Shade.

The taste turned off the dog, which kept him from licking.

The bad news: a little expensive and they did not stay on more than a day each. It takes about 2 weeks usually for these spots to heal, so that would mean 14 strips are needed.

My dog would not quit licking his leg after knee surgery and we had tried everything to get him to stop. Someone suggested these strips. He had it off in 2 minutes and my husband couldn't hardly stand the strong cayenne pepper smell, but my dog never flinched!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Dog Thanks You!, November 3, 2008

This product is outstanding. Get rid of the Elizabethan collar!! One whiff and my dog left the spot alone. The spot was on his rear leg, and he had been wearing a collar for about 10 days. We were all pretty sick of the collar, and I found these on Amazon. It has been wonderful ever since. If persistent licking is a problem - these are the answer to your prayers.
