Love this older edition,
By
This review is from: The Nutcracker (Hardcover)
This classic story is delightful and reveals the mystery of the nutcracker for small children. I love this older edition for its classic and detailed drawings (it's masterfully illustrated by Lisbeth Zwerger).
Zweger has illustrated the same story with a completely different feel in a 2004 edition ([...]) and that version is lovely in its own right, but I prefer the whimsy and "front-row" view of this 1987 edition.

This review is from: The Nutcracker (Hardcover)
There is no doubt about it - The Nutcracker is a favorite holiday story! There are ballets, books, poems, pictures,
decorations and more to increase interest in The Nutcracker. The illustrations help make this a true seller, and not just for children, adults will enjoy it as well - and enjoy reading it to children. I hope every library will have a copy of this particular edition. To further enhance the story and book there will be a production on television for all to enjoy.
