I bought this based mainly on the previous four rave reviews. Unfortunately, not only are the arrangements here uninspired, but the title of the album is misleading-- included on the album are only very short excerpts from the Nutcracker; the rest of the album is filled with (also uninspired) Christmas music.

I know this CD from only one track that appeared on a sampler CD from CD Review magazine a zillion years ago. If the rest of the album is like this track, what a splendid alternative Nutcracker this is! Soaring and beautiful, rich and mellow; I do hope this CD becomes easily available!

I own several Stephen Bennett CD's. The man is a genius with the acoustic guitar, steel guitar and harp guitar (my personal favorite). What he's done with the Nutcracker Suit is pure gold. Enjoy this cd while driving in your car to visit friends and relatives during the holiday season.

Stephen Bennett is already known and acclaimed as possibly the finest guitarist of our time. His numerous winnings of the fingerpicking and flatpicking chamionships puts him in a league of his own. This guitar orchestra (all done by Bennett) version of the Nutcracker is truly original and inspiring. As a Christmas CD, it makes a wonderful gift - a seasonal inspiration. I am buying several copies for friends and family.

This CD is an a marvelous accomplishment from an incredible guitarist, Stephen Bennett, and engineer Kim Person of Cimirron/Rainbird Records, Inc. A marvelous rendition!
