Cosequin DS Chewable Tablets 90ct Nutramax Cosequin Chewable beef and cheddar flavored tablets provide the raw materials (nutrients) the body uses to replenish the major components of articular cartilage matrix. Natural and safe, cosequin was developed for long term use. Double strength for large dogs. Ingredients: glucosamine hcl, sodium chondroitin sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, dextrose, xanthan gum, vegetable oil, artificial roast beef flavor, manganese ascorbate, salt, natural and artificial cheese flavor, mixed glycosaminoglycans, dried brewers yeast and natural garlic flavor. Guaranteed Analysis - each tablet contains: glucosamine hcl 99% - 500 mg sodium chondroitin sulfate 95% (low molecular weight) - 400 mg ascorbate (as manganese ascorbate) - 33 mg manganese (as manganese ascorbate) - 5 mg Administration as a supplement for dogs: The recommended initial administration period is four to six weeks. Your dog may respond in a shorter period of time. At this time you can decrease the number of Cosequin DS chewable tablets to the maintenance level. You can feed the chewable tablets directly to your pet or crumble and mix with food. Initial 4 to 6 week administration period: 10 to 24 lbs - 1 tablet daily (1/2 in the morning & 1/2 in the evening) (under 10 lbs, 1/2 daily); 25 to 49 lbs - 2 tablets daily (1 in the morning & 1 in the evening); 50 to 100 lbs - 3 tablets daily (2 in the morning & 1 in the evening); over 100 lbs - 4 tablets daily (2 in the morning & 2 in the evening). Maintenance level: 10 to 24 lbs - 1/2 tablet daily; 25 to 49 lbs - 1 tablet daily; 50 to 100 lbs - 1-2 tablets daily; over 100 lbs - 2 tablets daily. Once consistent improvement has been seen, these maintenance levels may be reduced to an every other day administration. The maintenance level can also be used long term on normal dogs to help keep their joints healthy. This product as been discontinued. We recommend Cosequin Soft Chew Dogs

Vet said surgery, research showed this product helpful in repair of cruciate ligament tear recovery. This product has helped both of my lab's get back to their active selves. Say no to surgery and yes to helping your pets live healthier lives.

Have really helped my old dog,

My vet recommended these for my 14 year old Bichon. Her arthritis was so bad that she couldn't even bear to be touched some days but after starting on this she is like her old self, running and even doing the "Bichon Blitz" which she hadn't done in years. It's helped her tremendously. The effect is built up over time and she was given shots to speed up the process before starting the tablets but it's been nearly a year and she has not had any more of the "too painful" episodes so far even though the vet said it was possible since her arthritis was so severe. The tablets are beef flavored (at least they smell like they are) and she gobbles the half tablet she gets a day like they are a treat. Amazon's price is half what the vet's was.

I was hoping my dog would like the tast and smell of these - but she turns away from them. I try to disguise them in her food- that doesn't work either. I am out 35 bucks I guess.
