I purchased the soft chews instead of the chewables because my dog is older, being treated for cancer and I thought they might be easier for her to chew. I don't know if it is just this bag or batch but these chews are NOT soft. The expiration date is 10/2014. Whenever I've bought Dasuquin and before that Cosequin, the dates were always at least two years out so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I would be very interested to know what others' experience has been. Are these supposed to be soft?

My black lab is 13 and suffers from some pretty severe arthritis. I started him on Cosequin Soft Chews Plus then upgraded to Dasuquin when it came out. Dasuquin is more cost effective for a large dog and I see better results. No problems with palatability, but he is a Lab!

I have two large dogs and both need this supplement, It's much more cost effective for me to buy the 150-count size bag rather than the 84-count size, and Amazon's price is the lowest I can find. At two per day that's a 75 day supply compared to 42 days for the smaller size. Most other sites only offer the 84-count size bag,

Just purchased our 2nd bag of chews; our Border Collie likes them, and they definitely improve on his aging joints. Last winter, he gained weight because he would just lie down or sleep most of the time, and we could hardly get him out the door to do his business. But now he's back to running around the yard again; he's even playing in the snow and cold on most days. Definite Improvement!

My dogs would be lost without these. They are old and arthritic and these chews -which they think taste great - help a lot. For our 44 lb beagle mix we just break the chews in half; the 68 lb shepherd mix gets a whole one. We give these once a day.

I have really seen a difference in my dog's mobility and comfort. Thank you so much! Worth the money, though definitely painful to purchase!

I have a 12.5 year old lab mix. Hind end joint issues have been getting worse for a while. I tried PetCo brand, Synovi3 and Joint Max Triple Strength (last 2 from Amazon). Both seemed to work for a month or so then the limping started again. My vet actually suggested this and it seems to be the right one. She hasn't limped in several weeks and is bouncing around a lot more. This is more expensive than the other brands I tried but I had to double up on those so I wasn't saving money. I would highly recommend if your dog has more advanced pain issues. If the joint issues are just beginning, I would suggest trying the other brands first. They work well for early stage issues in my opinion.

My 10 year old Labrador has bad hips. On bad days she will carry her back left leg while hobbling around the house. On medicine she does much better, but still limps and is slow. It definitely helps her, but is not a miracle cure. Price seems to be going up a lot too.
