5.0 out of 5 stars Great for soft, glossy, flake-free fur!
After trying this with great success, I was saddened to see these negative reviews. Taste appears to be the only reason for this. It is true, though. My cats hate the taste as well, SO the solution was to pour some into one of those little 2 oz. glass dropper bottles. I just hold each kitty steady and give each, by mouth, a full dropper 3 times per week (Mon. Wed...

One of my cats is very picky, but the other will usually eat almost anything. But not this. Even mixing it in tuna did not trick them.
My sister's dog enjoyed it, so it didn't go to waste.

Talk it over with kitty before you order this!! I wish I...

WE had great expectations for this Alaska salmon oil product- but alas, this is not for our 2 cats.
Salmon, in treats, food and rewards is their favorite taste and we feed them salmon treats for rewards with great success. Don't know what's wrong here and I can't say anything is for sure.
It's just strange that our salmon loving cats don't even touch this stuff in any presentation.
If we should ever feed them chunks of tire rubber, they would walk away- but eventully come back
to nosh within an hour. This is their behavior and we know it well. But they will leave this stuff
for hours until we remove it from their bowls. Maybe we should call the company and find out why!

This stuff works - my cats' fur is smoother and softer after they've had this in their food for a week or so. But the oil drips down the side of the bottle, and it smells awful. A better designed bottle is needed.

Wed. Fri.) and their coats are glossy, soft, and flake-free. It has also helped tremendously (along with canned/dry Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Duck & Green Pea cat food and Animals Apawthecary Phytomucil) with inflammatory bowel disease issues as it helps reduce inflammation in the intestinal tract. PLEASE give it a chance and dose by mouth, as I don't know any cat that can handle the highly concentrated flavor of this oil.

For the NB Duck & Green Pea: Natural Balance Green Pea & Duck Formula Dry Cat Food

For the Animal's Apawthecary Phytomucil: Animals' Apawthecary Phytomucil Digestive Tincture for Dogs and Cats, 2 Ounce Bottle I use a similar bottle for the salmon oil.

I implore you to give this a try!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bang for your buck, May 26, 2009
This review is from: Nutri-Vet Alaska Salmon Oil for Cats, 4 Ounce (Misc.)
I bought this for my cat because she's a little overweight, and when I put her on diet food, she wasn't getting the fats and omegas she needed. I have to say that I saw results within just a few days. Before, she had dandruff and her coat looked dull. She's still on the diet food, but I just squirt a little of this over it. To be honest, I thought she was going to love the fishy-ness, but she seems apathetic about it; she's about as neutral about her food as she always has been, but it's definitely doing its job!
