My dog is a larger dog (60+lbs) and 13-1/2 years old. Last summer her hips were getting so bad she could hardly go on a walk every day. We started her on a regiment of the Nuti-Vet, and lo-and-behold, she is now able to walk everyday, and also extended walks several times a week in the woods. She has been able to get herself back on the couch to snooze at her leisure. I am very impressed and so happy we got them for her. We passed this on to a few friends who have older pets with problems

My dog has been on these pills for over a month now and she's doing much better. Her joints between her legs and torso are pretty much pain free. I've tested her on this more and more and she shows no sign of pain. I'm very pleased w/this product and would highly recommend it for it's stated purposes.

My only complaint is that for a 40-lb dog (and below) you have to cut the pills in half. And they crumble more than cut. Use a pill cutter for better results. Directions: one dose each morning and evening.

I've been giving this to my 69lb Lab for two weeks. My vet prescribed Glucosamine-only tablets, any brand was fine. Though my dog's arthritic limping was to improve in about 30 days of use, according to my vet when using 1500mg/day, after two weeks I am noticing an improvement. This isn't to say that this product is the result of the improvement exclusively, but that it seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. However, the price is (or was) very near what you might pay in a large club-type store, such as BJ's.

The tablets are easily chewable, and considering the breed of dog, presumably taste good to her. The tablets are round, slightly smaller than the diameter of a dime, and about 1/4 inch thick. There is a line embossed through the tablets' diameter to ease in breaking in half. The consistency is similar to Tums antacid tablets. The jar is of course plastic, and the lid secures easily. The lid is not tamper-resistant for those of you who are challenged by common sense, so don't leave it where you do not want it opened accidentally.

I did not give this 5 stars because my review was written after two weeks, and I am unable to give long-term results.

I've been using this for a year now. Well, my Labrador has. Her limp has disappeared when she initially got my vet's dosage, and then I reduced it to one tablet every day. I do notice that her limp returns after about two months of not getting any tablets. But, by starting the regiment all over again, she's back to no limp. So, I bought another bottle. Still very happy with this.

Nikki is a 13-year-old yellow lab. About a year ago she got to were she could not move hardly at all. I started her on these supplements and we noticed a difference in one week with her movements. By the end of 3-4 weeks she was actually chasing a ball again! It has now been a year - she bounces, hops and plays like one of the other dogs again. We give her the medicine once a day and she gobbles them up with no problems.

I have been using Nutri Vet's Hip & Joint tablets for my 7 year old Yellow Lab. He has lost absolutely "no ground" as it pertains to his level of physical endurance. Great product !! Would recommend it to all dog owners especially those breeds that are prone to hip dysplacia.

I have a 14 year old Lab that was limping badly from arthritis in her shoulder. We started giving her this product twice a day and guess, she doesn't limp any more. It has greatly improved her quality of life

Most all of the negative reviews on here have to do with dogs not wanting to eat the tablet. They are like pills - compressed powder - and probably wouldn't digest much if not chewed first. That being the case, the difficulty in feeding can be resolved by crushing the pill and mixing it in their kibble (easily done with a spoon or strong hands). This solves the unwillingness to take the pill, as well as possible lack of digestion and metabolizing.

As far as the quality of the product, there may be slightly better ones out there, but this is what it says, and in my case has done what it claims to do - greatly diminish my dog's joint pain, allowing her to live a more active and comfortable life. The reason we buy this brand is because it noticeably works and is BY FAR the cheapest one out there to do so.

My dogs just love these and they work wonderful. I really should use the number 3 but I have used this product for so long I hate to change. I have two dogs..ages 16 and 11. I credit this product for keeping them active.

My 20-lb 10-year old mutt's back legs ached whenever the weather got cold. He whined in pain, and could barely use his back legs in the winter. I got this for him and initially gave him half a pill in the morning and the other half in the evening. The pill crumbles when I cut it, but while it was very bothersome to do this, he puked whenever I gave him a whole pill, so I had to do it.

To be fair, my dog has always had a weak stomach since he was a puppy. He also dislikes the taste, so it's always a battle to get him to swallow. Several weeks later, I got too lazy to continue cutting up his pills and shoving crushed portions down his throat twice a day, so I reverted back to giving him a whole pill in the morning.

He's used to it now, so he hasn't puked it back up since then, although he still dislikes the taste. He also hasn't limped and/or complained about his aching hip and joints, so it's totally worth it. He's been taking it everyday for a year now. He chases balls like a puppy again, and enjoys long walks.
