This review is from: Nutri-Vet Hip & Joint Plus Chewable Tablets for Dogs, 75 count (Misc.)
I have purchased this brand at a pet store for several years and when I last went to replenish my supply they were no longer stocking this brand. I looked at all the other similar products and discovered that they were all made in China. I am sure they are OK but when it comes to medicines, dog or human, I prefer to get them from a US manufacturer. The Nutri-Vet products are labeled "Made in the USA".
Why I believe this stuff works - the anecdotal evidence.

When my then 10 year old Australian Sheppard started exhibiting joint pain in her rear legs, my vet mentioned adding this type of product as a supplement to her diet.
It and dog aspirin mixed with her food seemed to really help her and she was able to make it up the stairs in the house with greater ease.

Now 3 years later she is a spry 13 and the silly pet store stopped stocking the Nutri-Vet brand. I soon ran out and she did not get it in her food for a while. Even with aspirin only it sure seemed that it was getting harder and harder for her to make her way up the stairs.

Now she gets the tablets every day and her range of movement is improved.

This suggests to me that this stuff does help her and that is the reason I will continue to buy and use it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only one with HA, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Nutri-Vet Hip & Joint Plus Chewable Tablets for Dogs, 75 count (Misc.)
This is, as far as I know, the only hip and joint supplement for dogs that contains hyaluronic acid.
I myself took the glucosomine/chrondroitin/msm products for years for my knee pain, and it did no good at all. Then my doctor recommended hyaluronic acid. I started taking it, and my knee pain was gone within days.
Therefore, I started giving this product to my aging dog who was having trouble with all the stairs in our house. My goodness, what a difference it has made.
I cannot recommend this product enough. I just wish they would up the amount of HA a little bit.Nutri-Vet Hip & Joint PLUS Liver Flavor Chewable Tablets, 120 Count

My five year old English Bully has some hip problems and skipping even one dose of this will show in his walk. I've been giving him these for over a year and he's playful and walks and runs great now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have been helpful for my dogs, November 8, 2010

These tablets helped to slow the affects of my elderly dog's arthritis. He has passed away, but two years before he passed he was starting to have great difficulty walking and getting up from a lying position. We could tell he was in a lot of pain and was not enjoying his life, since he could not even get up to greet us. He was not able to do many of his favorite things.

A combination of anti-inflammatory pills from the vet and these tablets contributed to a noticeable improvement in his ability to walk and a decrease in stiffness. These tablets take awhile to work (about 2 months) and need to be given regularly to show benefits. But I know they helped to decrease my dog's pain, allowed him to be fairly active and to enjoy the last couple years of his life. Plus it gave us two more wonderful years with him. He was a big dog who lived to 14 years old.

Now our 5 year old dog is exhibiting pain and stiffness in his joints, so in addition to a weight loss program, I have started him on these. (As we all know, labs LOVE to eat.) These tablets are less expensive than anti-inflammatory pills from the vet and easier on the stomach when taken long term. I completely believe that glucosamine and chondroitin work because I've seen it with my own eyes.

If your dog doesn't like the taste, just add a dab of peanut butter to the top of each tablet and he'll snarf it right up!
