5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Even Need the CD
I've been reading about how people are complaining about the CD not working, or other issues. Let me tell you that I've never used the CD, because this book is so easy to read (probably a 7th grade reading level), and the material isn't even difficult (nutrition). Nutrition is everywhere, and those who have this class and book should have no problem passing. I'm in a...

3.0 out of 5 stars informative for class but....
I bought this book/cd for an online class. Facts are facts and that is what I needed it for. But the CD and Book do not always corelate the same information, for instance in the book it states that there are 10 essential amino acids but on the CD flashcards it says there are 9. If I guessed 9 on my test - I would be wrong.
Also, the opinions of the author tend to...

3.0 out of 5 stars informative for class but...., May 7, 2007
I bought this book/cd for an online class. Facts are facts and that is what I needed it for. But the CD and Book do not always corelate the same information, for instance in the book it states that there are 10 essential amino acids but on the CD flashcards it says there are 9. Also, the opinions of the author tend to be written as fact and there are some that I definitely disagree with from personal experience. Example: the author states that B12 deficiency is rare - well not in my world. I have Celiac Disease (1 of 133 americans have it) and pernicious anemia or b12 deficiency is quite common.
To summarize: if you need the book for a class - it is informative - but disregard the opinions and watch out for mistakes on the CD.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cd does not work!, January 23, 2010
I bought this book new thinking that the cd that is included will help me with studying..well turns out that the Cd does not have the resources like the "case in points" and the answers for the end of chapter review.. What a waste of time and money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Even Need the CD, April 2, 2011

I've been reading about how people are complaining about the CD not working, or other issues. Let me tell you that I've never used the CD, because this book is so easy to read (probably a 7th grade reading level), and the material isn't even difficult (nutrition). Nutrition is everywhere, and those who have this class and book should have no problem passing. I'm in a nursing program right now, and this book and class are almost an afterthought. This book makes nutrition easier than it already is. One can read a chapter in 15 minutes and fully understand it. That's my perspective.....what about YOURS?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, October 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We have been using this book in my nursing class this month. It has been very informative. We've only used up until chapter 9 though so I can't tell anyone how the rest is! Other than that, it's great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overview of Nutrition Basics, May 29, 2011

Seems to be a pretty good book for covering basic Nutrition fundamentals for PN I.
Doesn't go so in depth that I'm totally lost, but covers everything from enough different angles that it all makes sense.

2.0 out of 5 stars can not read the tables, March 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There is a good bit of information that you miss because the print is too small to read on the Kindle. I believe that this is only available for the Kindle, as I've tried to download it to my computer in order to read the tables and can't get it to work. You do save a good bit of money, but you need to buy two copies so you can read the tables from your computer. Best to just buy the book.

Book looks like a used book that was resold but the price that I paid I would have expected a much better condition. Quick delivery.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is exactly the book I needed however, it did not come with the online code which put me a week behind in my class. by the time I drove to get the online code I only saved about ten dollars.
