This book has a great listing of everyday foods and beverages that is easy for the average person to read. The portions are realistic and easy to plan from. Many foods are listed in several forms with calories, vitamins and minerals listed clearly.
I recommend this for any average person that doesnt have the time or energy to research their diet, but desires to be clearly informed.
I received the book after taking a course in nutrition through Washington State University Co-op Ext.

This is just the book I was looking for. Lots of books out there with nutritional information on restaurant foods and lots of information is available on packaged foods' labels. It can be hard to find what you need about a yam, though, and if you eat more natural foods, this is the book for you.

it did not give me enough information on what foods you get calcium from. I need it as my bones are getting brittle, yes I am over 60. I am still looking for a book that tells me what veg. give me the most calcium.

This is the 3rd edition of this pamphlet that I have had. They have all been very useful as references. Each edition adds some new things. Lots of basic nutritional info, which allows you to compare different foods.
