Book Description

3 and upSharing Nature with Children Books
Here, in luminous illustrations, is the life cycle of an oak--and how it supports life even after it is gone. An acorn drops from a great oak and grows. Animals nibble at it, a fire threatens it, but overcoming many challenges it eventually towers high in the forest, observing the changing human scene below. Eventually its energy passes into many other life forms--even the cherry pie enjoyed by the boy in the house below.

Beautifully pictured through the art of Cris Arbo, Joseph Anthony's In A Nutshell explains to children ages 3 through 10 the great and universal questions of who we are, why we are here, where we come from, and where we go. Highly recommended.

A great way to introduce young children to this timeless storyand reacquaint us older ones. Cris Arbo's use of color andimagination is enchanting. By the way she draws the wonders of nature; she reminds us again of the nature of wonder...
