Almost any kid who was raised in the 1950s or '60s had some relative who annually hauled out a particular LP album or 45 RPM record to play Nuttin' For Christmas, by Spike Jones, as if to let the kids know that they had misbehaved in some form or another. The chorus to that familiar song went like this:

I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

It came from Spike Jones' album Let's Sing a Song of Christmas, which had a wide variety of humorous tracks appropriate for the holidays. For some it was a good alternative to Bing Crosby.

These days you know that you're really getting nothing for Christmas if you receive a package like this Test Product (empty box), which is about as direct a message as there could be, other than getting a lump of coal in your stocking.

We often put things on our Christmas list that we know that we have absolutely no chance at all of receiving, guaranteeing that nothing in that category will be received. My personal choice in that grouping is the amazing JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser/Tank, from NAO Design. It's a completely unique, extremely rare land vehicle. It's said that it doubles as a battle tank, but I'm drawn to it for its a steel shell exterior with a rust patina, and its fully carpeted and cozy interior, with accent lighting and room for up to five people.

I heard this song for the first time this year and thought it was so appropriate for keeping the kids in line!
