Product Description

You sweat, Nuun Active Hydration replenishes! Nuun’s signature profile of 4 key electrolytes help your body make the most of the water you’re drinking. Nuun drink tabs are portable, taste great, and deliver a fast-absorbing electrolyte blend without the sugar or waste of bottled sports drinks. Each tube of Nuun contains 12 effervescent tablets. Each tablet makes 16 oz of Nuun, and delivers 360 mg Sodium / 100 mg Potassium / 25 mg Magnesium / 13 mg Calcium, electrolytes that help maintain fluid balance, prevent cramping, and aid in efficient muscle performance. Nuun is good for your body (less than 1g of carbs, low calories, no high-fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors), and good for the earth - one tube prevents the need for twelve 16oz plastic bottles from sugar-ADE sport drinks. Nuun, pronounced “Noon,” was the first company to separate electrolyte replacement from carbohydrates. Before Nuun, if you wanted electrolytes, the result was a bottle full of sugar. With our simple, self-dissolving, electrolyte tab, we revolutionized the sports drink forever. Nuun was originally the brainchild of a student and professor from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. An avid cyclist, he longed for a lightweight, easy to use hydration method that didn’t include a sticky high-calorie mess. His research led to the creation of a low sugar, dissolvable, and portable tablet called Nuun. Ten years later, Nuun Active Hydration is the #1 selling drink tab in the cycling, running and outdoor marketplaces. Nuun has even expanded its product line from sports performance hydration to include two all-natural, vitamin-enhanced products for everyday use, Nuun All Day Hydration and U Natural Hydration. Most recently Nuun launched its energy line, which boosts performance with caffeine and B-vitamins. So be it a bike ride, a long day at the office, or a day at home juggling kids, Nuun has a tablet and flavor customized to help you stay healthy and hydrated. Nuun and Company is based in Seattle, WA. Nuun is sold in over 10,000 outlets in the U.S. and available in over 30 countries.

I drink Nuun while on long runs and long bikes.
Sarah Beth
This tastes great, is not fizzy, and is light but just enough flavor to taste good and to also replace electrolytes.
L. Rasmussen
Easy to use just break tablets in two and drop in water bottle.

Nuun is an awesome product. You can go to their Web site ([...]) to get the technical stuff, but the bottom line is it has what most other sports drink supplements offer EXCEPT the sugar. This is a very big difference to many.

I believe hydrating and fueling should be independent of each other. Nuun allows me to hydrate according to the varying needs of each training session, without introducing sugars to my system. I can then manage my fueling (I only use Gu) in a controlled manner.

It tastes good and the flavors mix well (try orange and berry in s 1:2 ratio). The bit of effervescence with Nuun is refreshing without stomach bloating. For Camelbak users, mix Nuun in a bottle overnight before filling your reservoir, to avoid swelling from the initial effervescence release.

I highly recommend it, and this variety pack is a much better than buying 6 or 8 packs of individual flavors.

I buy the Nuun Active Hydration in this 4-pack every month or two. I have to drink something with sodium in it to retain salt. I have no adrenal glands. Gatorade is expensive and too high in calories. I only like one flavor it, also. I love all 4 flavors of this 4-pack, although I really love the Citrus flavor the most. Nuun is low-calorie and all-natural, unlike most drinks mixes. It is easy and convenient when traveling or to keep handy in my purse. Most of all, it works for my needs.

For those who don't know the difference between the 3 types of Nuun, you may be giving an inappropriate review. There are 3 major types:

I can go into all kinds of details about pros and cons but ultimately I own a bar (drink often) and play soccer 2-3 times a week. With this the main thing I noticed is that I put 1/2 a tab in my water before bed.... I sip said water throughout the night and the difference I noticed immediately the first night is that I don't get up to go to the bathroom but maybe once and I don't finish the water until the morning. Before taking Nuun I would wake up often and go to the bathroom often because I was chugging and refilling my water constantly throughout the night. To me what this means is that the water I was drinking was not hydrating me completely.
As mentioned, I drink alcohol and I play soccer - both dehydrating. I'm very impressed with Nuun minus the calories of Gatorade. Gatorade works ok with Soccer and cramps but Nuun works a tad better. I won't say Nuun is the end-all be-all but I like the flavors and waking up less has been great! When it comes to sports... Gatorade and Nuun are pretty even but Nuun may work just slightly better.
My wife also loves them because she can take them while she's pregnant and working out without feeling guilty.

As a serious runner, I was always having a hydration problem - drinking myself into near-hyponatremia but still feeling like something was missing. It was. It was the electrolytes that this product delivers (and I've tried various capsules designed for endurance athletes and they helped but not enough). This product solves my drinking problem completely, and Subscribe and Save gets it to you the cheapest anywhere.

A friend turned me onto these. Initially loved them. however noticed that I get headaches all the time now. My nutritionist did some research and determined that they contain acesulfame potassium which may becarcinogenic.

"Center for Science in the Public Interest believes further research should be conducted to ensure that it is safe to eat. The CSPI thinks that acesulfame potassium may becarcinogenic due to experimentation of the substance on lab rats. Additionally, in lab rodents, acesulfame potassium has produced lung, breast and rare organ tumors, various forms ofleukemia, and chronic respiratory diseases. Due to the fact that the substance acesulfame potassium contains methylene chloride, long-term exposure may lead to a number of issues for people consuming it, including headaches, visual disturbances, mental confusion, nausea, depression, effects on the liver and kidneys.
