Nuun is an awesome product. You can go to their Web site ([...]) to get the technical stuff, but the bottom line is it has what most other sports drink supplements offer EXCEPT the sugar. This is a very big difference to many.

I believe hydrating and fueling should be independent of each other. Nuun allows me to hydrate according to the varying needs of each training session, without introducing sugars to my system. I can then manage my fueling (I only use Gu) in a controlled manner.

It tastes good and the flavors mix well (try orange and berry in s 1:2 ratio). The bit of effervescence with Nuun is refreshing without stomach bloating. For Camelbak users, mix Nuun in a bottle overnight before filling your reservoir, to avoid swelling from the initial effervescence release.

I highly recommend it, and this variety pack is a much better than buying 6 or 8 packs of individual flavors.

Great tasting so it is easy to drink. The hard containers that the tablets are in are very convenient. This hydrating product is very useful.

Nuun is a great product. Full disclosure I got my first year or two of Nuun as part of a sponsorship deal but have been buying it for myself for ever since. I really like the idea of decoupling electrolytes and nutrition. I've never found one of the salt + sugar drinks I'm a fan of. Instead I use Hammer Gel for calories while riding/running and Nuun for electrolytes. This system works well for me.

As far as flavor goes I like the lemon/line and citrus, berry is so-so and I don't like orange. Of course this is wildly subject so get a mix pack to start with and see what you like. I don't mix in the recommended concentration. I cut it in half. The tablets have a score line that makes doing this easy. I find this keeps my water refreshingly under flavored while providing enough salt to avoid problems.

Once you are done with the tabs the cylinders make convent storage containers for small parts.

Bottom Line: Highly recommend!

A friend turned me onto these. Initially loved them. however noticed that I get headaches all the time now. My nutritionist did some research and determined that they contain acesulfame potassium which may becarcinogenic.

"Center for Science in the Public Interest believes further research should be conducted to ensure that it is safe to eat. The CSPI thinks that acesulfame potassium may becarcinogenic due to experimentation of the substance on lab rats. Additionally, in lab rodents, acesulfame potassium has produced lung, breast and rare organ tumors, various forms ofleukemia, and chronic respiratory diseases. Due to the fact that the substance acesulfame potassium contains methylene chloride, long-term exposure may lead to a number of issues for people consuming it, including headaches, visual disturbances, mental confusion, nausea, depression, effects on the liver and kidneys. I am an endurance athlete, cycling and skate skiing. These tabs taste horrible, and I'm not sure they do a thing. I much prefer the Camelback tabs.

Love this tabs. They have a groove in the middle, so it's easy to break in half, which is handy to use in my hydration belt with 7 oz bottles. I also bring a tab or two on long rides so I just have to buy a gallon of water and share it with fellow riders.

It's partially my own fault: I didn't read the label carefully. First, I didn't really pay attention to what was used to sweenten these tabs: if I had paid closer attention, I would have seen the sorbitol and would have known that by itself, I've never liked that taste; reminds me of saccharin. But more importantly, what I didn't see was that, while one tab flavors 16 oz. of water, one SERVING is actually 8 oz, and all of the information on the box is based on an 8 oz. serving of the product in water. What that means is that, for every 8 oz. you drink, you're getting 172.5 mg. of sodium!! For a person like me who has high blood pressure and on 4 medications, I get enough sodium in my diet: even after working out, I prefer drinks that are higher in potassium and electrolytes, but not with so much sodium that the drink fails to quench my thirst. I hope this review helps others who need to restrict their sodium intake as I do.
