This was my first time installing a track lighting kit and let me tell you it doesn't get much easier than this. My install may be a bit different but was my only option. I purchased a Juno Lighting R22WH Cord and Plug Connector, White which allowed me to plug this connector into one end of the track then simply plug into a 2 prong outlet.

I already had speakers mounted on the wall and was able to add more cord concealer to cover up the ac cord.

The track was mounted to the ceiling using 2 supplied screws. Once that was mounted the hard part was done...and that was easy. The track itself is 4 feet long and with 7 inch track heads that have a 4 1/2 inch bulb opening.

I removed one of the track end caps with a Philips screwdriver and inserted the Juno cord connector which is about 3 inches long. You should know it did not slide in all the way due to plastic guides (probably because I am using 2 different brands) but with a pair if scissors I was able to cut 2 notches and that allowed a tight fit. Again, very easy to do and will all make sense once you see it. The connector stays in place by tightening the screw that is attached. I was able to plug into an ac outlet and it lit up the room.

I had everything mentioned here installed in less than 30 minutes. I love the way it came out.

This three head track lighting kit is pretty much what you might expect. These particular heads take larger R30 sized lamps - I use CFL lamps which run about 15 watts each and are commonly available. You can also use incandescents. The kit is designed to work with a typical sized outlet box such as one that might have been put in place for a ceiling fixture or fan. You first install the power connector to the box, then mount the track, then attach the power outlet to the track (twist-lock). A simple plastic cover is just big enough to cover the outlet box, and putting the screws in for that was the hardest part of the job, as they are hard to start. Finally, you attach the three lamp heads, again with a 90 degree twist lock. A collar piece prevents the lamp from twisting off; it's necessary to pull that back to remove the head. The heads have a wide range of motion to allow you to direct light to wherever you may need it. The instructions provided look like they were written around an older version of the kit. However, if you are the handy type, you will figure it out.

The very last thing I did was unpack the third head, only to discover a broken plastic bezel that provides a dark trim ring around the widest part of the bulb. With everything else up on the ceiling, it would be difficult to return the kit to Amazon. Satco (the manufacuturer) only provides a snail mail address, so I had to track down their telephone number. I did speak to someone there who sounded like she had seldom spoken to an end user with a problem, but she did promise to send me a new head. Seven weeks later, I received a box stuffed with Japanese newspapers and a replacement bezel. I imagine that they don't stock service parts in this country, and usually count on dealers to get any parts they need from other kits they have in stock. Selling via Amazon may be a new thing for this manufacturer.

Bottom line: I'm now happy, and the kit looks good on my ceiling and does the job.
