I have been using the Ritmo for about two months and love it. It is easy to use and awesome for working out. Just put it on and insert your ipod and go! You can control the sound with different volumes for you and the baby. It doesn't move around while working out and is so comfortable. We also use it with our two younger children to record stories and let the entire family be a part of the birth process.

I am absolutely thrilled that we ended up buying this product. At first, my husband was very hesitant to go ahead and purchase this, because the price scared him a bit. But I was insistent and he eventually agreed. And I am so happy with it. It is very comfortable, the stretchy material really is "breathable" and fits around my growing belly. And the entire system of hooking up my iPod and listening along with baby has been so rewarding. She's gotten pretty active when we started playing the music, so I can just tell that she's reacting to the music! I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you're a music lover like me. Don't be scared by the price, it is a durable, well-built product that will last for multiple pregnancies, as well as post-partum life too!!

So I'm in my 5th month and was very excited about this product after reading the reviews. I was a bit skeptical about the price but I loved the idea that it was an expandable belt that had surround sound and the speakers could be used post baby. So I bought the unit, it arrived and I charged it for at least 10-14 hours as suggested. The belt is really soft and stretchy, very well made. The instructions were easy to read. I plugged my iPod up to the unit and heard nothing. So then I proceeded to troubleshoot. I made sure my iPod was turned all the way up, that all the cords were plugged in fully. I used my headphones to see if I could hear the music that the baby was supposed to hear. I then used my iPhone in case there was something wrong with my iPod. I then used my desktop external speakers and noticed that though I could faintly hear the music, there was no way a baby in utero would be able to hear it. I even switched between the "pre" and "post" settings to see if that would make a difference. Nope. So I called Ritmo and spoke with a customer service representative and I told her everything and she said that she hadn't heard of this issue before. So I decided to exchange it.
My second unit arrived yesterday. I charged it all night and was excited to try it this morning. Same issue...you can very faintly hear the music, but only as long as it's completely quiet and you're very still. The music couldn't be heard well through my earphones, my desktop external speakers and definitely not the speakers for the baby. There was no difference between the "pre" and "post" settings even with my iPod and iPhone turned all the way up. And there is no volume button on the unit itself.
I find it unlikely that I received two defective units. So I'm sadly packaging the unit back up and sending it back for a full refund. $100+ is too much to pay for something that just doesn't work.
