Nuvo Ritmo Pregnancy Sound System, Black/Green

I have been using the Ritmo for about two months and love it. It is easy to use and awesome for working out. Just put it on and insert your ipod and go! You can control the sound with different volumes for you and the baby. It doesn't move around while working out and is so comfortable. We also use it with our two younger children to record stories and let the entire family be a part of the birth process.

I debated getting this belt during my pregnancy and finally I succumbed and got it. I started wearing it right away. Then I read in several books that babies don't develop hearing until past the 5th month, so on the shelf it went. I started wearing it again on and off for the last 3 months of my pregnancy and thank God for the additional strap; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to wear it. So here are my pros and cons about this product.

Supposed to be easy to wash but I really don't know(I would put it on on top of a shirt otherwise you'll end up with big circles marking your belly and you don't want any additional marks on your body)
Cons:
I just wished the pocket for the mp3 player (which you have to get on your own, it is not included along with the music) was bigger.
The box promises additional uses for the belt once s/he is born but so far I haven't received any information about it so I just put the belt on the crib with the speakers facing the baby.
Overall I would recommend it. I don't give it the 5 stars because I had to get my own music, mp3, and I wish I there were additional uses or attachements that came with it to use on the stroller, for instance.
On an additional note: once my baby was born, she was more prone to listen to classical music rather than other sounds so I guess it worked.

The Ritmo is exactly as described and pictured. I figure, why not give my baby every possible in-utero advantage even if there is no proof in-utero sound therapy works. I am certainly not relying on this to create a baby genius, but the product works very well, produces nice sound quality, is made from good materials and is packaged well. I liked the idea of surround sound only because my baby is pretty active and this gives him/her the best shot at having a full sound experience =) My husband travels internationally so we plan to record him reading bedtime stories to the baby for me to share when he is out of town. We are also asking my parents (who live out of town) to do the same. It is a nice way to expose the baby to voices that should be familiar one day. The unit is easy to use and fits comfortably. I did read (separately) that one hour a day is sufficient and will not overstimulate the baby so as comfortable as the Ritmo is, and as much as I like sharing my music with the little one, I don't plan to go overboard for my listening enjoyment. My sister had another prenatal sound system that offered the typical two speakers and she found the belt to be difficult to keep in place. That is not a problem with the Ritmo. I'm 16 weeks and just showing and even though there is plenty of room for me to grow (belly first) into the belt, it does not slide around or fall. It comes with a belt extender should I really blossom overnight. Also, the sound controller lends a first-time-mom (like me) some additional peace of mind that I am not harming my baby's ears (though the risk is infinitesimally small - I have researched this thoroughly). Even though there is limited risk at injuring the baby, it is nice to know I can't do harm with the Ritmo Smart-Sound technology. Finally, I especially liked this product because Nuvo is planning to expand its accessory line for post-natal listing (coming soon according to the manufacturer). Great gift for expectant moms! This one is happy to have the product and share some additional bonding time with my baby!!!

We just received our Ritmo, and we are so excited about it. The packaging is beautiful my wife loves how it feels when she wears it... I'm thrilled that we can enjoy our music with our baby, we love the beatles personal favorite fool on the hill, ringo is so under rated... . My wife also uses it when listening to meditation exercises from her doula and I am so glad that they (wife and the dude) can share that and relax together. Highly recommend this... it's a life changer...

I 1st saw this Nuvo Ritmo belly speaker system on TV watching the Bethenny reality show. It looked pretty awesome on TV, and I thought about getting one for my pregnant wife. I started reading about the benefits of playing music for baby's prenatlly, and read how it could potentially give our baby an early start on learning. I was hooked and convinced on getting it for my wife. The Nuvo Ritmo is awesome and is way better then stuffing ear buds in your pregnant wife's pants. The ear bud method only provides 2 speakers but the Nuvo Ritmo provides 4 spearkers, so it more or less provides your baby with surround sound. We've used it non-stop for the past 2 months. It also comes with an extension band to allow the pregnant mother's to continue using the device as their belly's continue to grow by the weeks and months. A bag is also included which you can use for storage or to wash the band in. Nuvo is working on other applications which you can use the current system in the stroller or crib. The applications are still not available, but it is good to know that in the short future we still will be able to use the Nuvo Ritmo speaker system post-natal.

The Ritmo works great. I wasn't sure if I would hear it myself and I realized that I just need to play it at one of the lowest levels on my Ipod so I can't hear it but sound still comes out. I assume the baby doesn't want to blow it's ear drums yet. My husband connected 2 cords and I charged the tiny (ipod shuffle size) machine for 14 hours and I was ready to go. It has an extender for when I get really big.

We bought this primarily to get the baby used to sounds that we could control. We heard from multiple new parents that the only thing to calm their infants were sounds they were used to hearing, examples: shower, car motor, hair dryer, etc. We are thinking that if we could get the baby used to some classical music and lullaby renditions of the beatles that we could then just play the same playlist and be able to calm our future baby. This may be wishful thinking but for this price it's worth the risk to get a few more hours of sleep later on.

I am absolutely thrilled that we ended up buying this product. At first, my husband was very hesitant to go ahead and purchase this, because the price scared him a bit. But I was insistent and he eventually agreed. And I am so happy with it. It is very comfortable, the stretchy material really is "breathable" and fits around my growing belly. And the entire system of hooking up my iPod and listening along with baby has been so rewarding. She's gotten pretty active when we started playing the music, so I can just tell that she's reacting to the music! I would definitely recommend this product, especially if you're a music lover like me. Don't be scared by the price, it is a durable, well-built product that will last for multiple pregnancies, as well as post-partum life too!!

Got product on time. Super easy to use. Must have if you are expecting a little one. Works just like it is describesd on OEM site.

We were looking for something that was good quality to play music for our baby. My husband did a lot of research before deciding on this one. We were not disappointed! It is comfortable to wear and very portable! I use my cell phone to play music and I even wear it to the grocery store. Also if a call comes through when it's plugged in to the system the sound goes through those speakers so we use it to give the baby direct access to her daddy's voice too :)

I bought this for my wife when she was 6 months pregnant. It is awesome. We were able to put together a few play lists for our son. We had the Classical Music playlist, the Beatles play list, the music we love play list, and a playlist that had me and other family members talking or reading to him. My wife was able to listen to the music with our unborn child and it was just another way for them to bond. I love the Ritmo because it has "surround sound". You don't know where the baby will be positioned from one day to the next...so it's good to know that the speakers will be near his ears. I believe that our son enjoyed this music and that he is soothed now that he's out in the real world by the music he heard when in the womb.

This is a fabulous product but I didn't give it 5 stars because the audio controller is awkward to place into the pocket when you have all the wires hooked up. It would be nice if they designed it so when you put the audio controller into the pocket, the on/off switch was easily accessible (pointing up) so you won't have to dig around looking for it.

I love this product and we have lent it to 2 other pregnant moms who love it as well.
