Product Description

The NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop 2 (PIC2) offers precise temperature control, adjustable in 10-degree increments. With a minimum temperature setting of 100°F and an upper limit of 575°F (Sear), the PIC2 offers a wider temperature range than competitor models. This permits the appliance to act as more than just a cooktop.

The NuWave PIC2 does the thinking for you. It offers state-of-the art programming technology with 100 hours of memory that allow you to prepare complex recipes with ease.. A "Delay" function allows you to initiate cooking when it's most convenient for you, including an automatic shutoff function when cooking time is completed.

The NuWave PIC2 was engineered with a circular design scheme, doing away with excess space that serves no cooking function. The PIC2's round design also echoes the traditional feel of an intimate gathering place like the kitchen or dining room table. Mealtime is about community and the PIC2 was designed with that idea in mind.

Despite its portability and compact size, the NuWave PIC2 offers a large cooking area, measuring 9 inches in diameter. In this case, bigger is better, with the PIC2 allowing for greater diversity in cooking vessels and portion sizes. The product also comes with unrivaled customer support and free value-added resources such as lifetime membership to the online Precision Cooking Club. This invaluable tool features recipes, tips and tricks from the NuWave Culinary Team, designed to help you make the most of the PIC2 cooking experience!

Do a search here at Amazon, see how many times the PIC is listed and read the reviews on ALL of them
I'm on my second PIC and have had it a little over a month and the thermostat is messing up. hot, hot, burn then down, down, down sitting on a cold pan. I don't EVER want to talk to anyone there again. If I stand there and keep adjusting the heat I can get meal. Don't trust it for melting chocolate or making yogurt. My fried chicken sat in cold grease, till I turned it up, then down, then up. Buy a different brand. I have a commercial cooking background and know how to cook on induction. This is a bad product.

My PIC over heated enough to separate the enamel from my dutch oven. They agreed to replace, then put a hold order on the replacement without notice to me. I called 5 times and it seems that notes are not accumulated in one area of the software they use, I had to go over the same thing every time. I finally got a "Shipped Out" phone call 24 days after the initial call. By then I was outraged and said so and wanted recompense for my dutch oven, time and inconvenience. I was offered an 11pc cooking set, which included a dutch oven for shipping only. I agreed and was charges $69.99. I know they inflate shipping, so when I verified I was NOT being charged for the set, I was reassured this was shipping ONLY (I know but that's them). My trust at this point is nil, so I go online...no such thing as an 11pc set. closest is a 10 pc Ultimate NO DUTCH OVEN, priced at $69.99 + $29.99 shipping. Now I start the call backs to get a supervisor, dropped calls, delays because the notes can't be found same old stuff. After 2 hours on the phone my satisfaction was the $69,99 order was cancelled. But to this day I do not have a replacement PIC and my burnt out $119 dutch oven is a doorstop.

This is a review of the PIC PRO model, not the PIC2 model. But it it will still be useful to the PIC2 'gang'.
I phoned NuWave for clarifications BEFORE I ordered via their website 11-14-2013. Their sales reps also confirmed I can simply pay all at once, which I preferred. I think some super-villain like Lex Luther designed their online ordering process. It made me feel like I was being challenged by a wily opponent, or running a cyber-gauntlet, but I read each succeeding question/offer carefully and ended up doing OK.
I went for their "BOGO" 2-cooktops-for-1 offer, and I opted to upgrade to the "PIC Pro" model. PIC PRO unit #1 base price was $129.94 ($24.99 more than the PIC2's price of $99.99). S&H on that unit was another $29.95, for a total of $154.93. For PIC Pro unit #2, I paid a $24.99 `premium' for getting the `pro' version, and paid another $29.95 for S&H. Total cost of the 2nd unit was $54.94. So both Pro units cost a total of $209.87, or $104.94 apiece, including the S&H. I also went for the free "Complete NuWave PIC Cooking Package". This introduced another $29.95 for S&H. The final charge against my credit card was $239.82. The charge showed up Nov. 17th NuWave sent me prompt e-mail confirmation of my order, but I had to email them on Nov. 18 to request a UPS tracking number. They promptly sent me the tracking number, and the shipment arrived intact on the morning of Nov. 20th.
In a single 32-lb. box, I rec'd the two PIC Pro units (model #30301AR), and the cookware set (consisting of: a 9" frying pan; a 10˝" frying pan; a 10 ˝" dia. x 3" deep stainless steel pot; a 10˝" dia. glass lid; a stainless steel steamer insert that can be used with the pot; a fondu-ring insert that can be used with the pot, and; eight fondu forks.

Dear Hearthware Customer Support
and Management Dept.

Re: NuWave Pic2 Induction Cooktop_Complaint

I was going to order this product from you, but, after a bad experience with a Montel Blender I purchased and returned. I decided to investigate your product on Amazon and Google.
I have read all the reviews on Amazon on your product and was very glad I did. It is very evident you have quality control problems with your product. Not only that, it appears your customer service dept. needs improving a great deal, plus complaints of overcharging on shipping.

I was also surprised to find you have a F rating from the BBB and you have done nothing to correct this situation, this was enough to convince me to stay away from your NuWave Induction Grill. I am a buyer and purchase thousands of dollars of products every year. It is really to bad customers have to be treated this way and you seem to not want to do anything to correct your problems. I believe in 0 tolerance when it comes to customer service and quality control.

It was important for me to write to you, inform that you have lost a client and I am sure others as well, when I post my findings to others. You have the power and opportunity to resolve all the issues, by taking action and correcting your quality control, over priced shipping and customer service complaints. By doing nothing re-assures myself that my statements are correct and everyone should be aware to stay away from NuWave Pic2 Induction Cooktop.

I do hope you will do something to correct all of the problems from the complaints you have had on your Nuwave Cooktop. Don’t forget about your standings with the BBB, these obviously need serious attention and many buyers rely on these ratings.

Sincerely

Stan Kilber
