This unit works, but what you will receive is NOT the Nyko Wii Adapter pictured, which is why I'm giving it one star - they tricked me into buying something they apparently don't actually have to sell. Nor does it have the same ratings as the Nyko unit, which is specifically rated for 120 volts AC @60Hz. (You can get a real Nyko from Best Buy for about $35, but it is truly made with the same tech specs that came with your original US-marketed Wii.) The product you will receive from "Quick Buys" will be a no-name Chinese knock-off rated for 100 volts AC at 50/60 Hz. So the unit works (I'm not sure why - see below), but it is not the genuine Nyko item.
As for my curiosity about why this unit works when it's not rated for 120 VAC input, it does not distort the screen like the similar knock-off marketed here on Amazon by "Bargaincell," which has a more ambiguous rating (100 to 240 VAC, but no frequency mentioned at all - I bought one of those and had to send it back), but the "Bargaincell" units will definitely distort the output from your made-for-sale-in_USA Wii, and should be avoided. (Just check the reviews on that item.) So even though this thing from "Quick Buys" works, I will only use it for emergency purposes. I had already bought the Tyco at Best Buy, but the very existence of all these after-market Wii power adapters here on Amazon (just AC-DC transformers really, but the tech specs can really matter) insinuates that this is a weak link in the Wii gaming system, so I wanted a back-up unit in case the Tyco failed. Since the two knock-off's I've bought through Amazon vendors seem to be rated for 25% less input (100 vs 120) volts than they're going to get from a wall socket in any US home (and who knows what damage this might do to a Wii rated for 120 VAC over time?), I recommend spending the extra bucks for the Tyco (the only one I know for sure is rated for common US house current in voltage & frequency). Just don't buy it from the ad with the Tyco pictured here from vendor "Quick Buys", which as I have already lamented, is NOT what you get when you order this item.

Failed the first time I plugged it in!,

Our Wii's AC adapter failed following a thunderstorm as several other reviewers noted. So I ordered this replacement, direct from Amazon (no 3rd party sellers), and trusted the Nyko brand as they've been around for a while. The first time I plugged it in, the LED on the plug lit up orange as it is supposed to. Then I plugged it in to the Wii. The LED changed to blue for a split second, then there was a flash and a burning electronics smell from the power brick. The cable light went out and the Wii would no longer power up. I am returning it and will exchange for a different brand; hopefully my Wii was not ruined by this faulty adapter!
Edit: I went to Nintendo's online store and ordered a "real" Nintendo AC adapter for Wii for $[...], the same as the price for the Nyko item here. Unfortunately [...] doesn't support Amazon Prime shipping (shocking! haha) so I had to pay $[...] shipping, but I think it will be worth it. It seems Amazon does not stock Nintendo-branded AC adapters (or at least I couldn't find them).

All I can say for sure is - "it works".
I saw the Nyko at BestBuy for over $30. This unit - copy or not - works for half the price. All of the reviews of the power supplies that were obvious imitations of the Wii powerpacks convinced me I needed to either buy directly from Wii, or give the Nyko a try. It works perfectly. The packaging is similar to the one I saw at BestBuy, and it works without causing interference lines on TV.

Better then the three Nintendo branded ones before it. My area has a lot of issues with inconsistent voltage and therefor power supplies throughout the house just have a shorter lifespan then average household. This one has already lasted twice as long as the next best one I have used.

I had to replace one of my Wii power packs and this one works great. Much nicer than the original. The power pack on my other Wii died and I will be buying another one here in the near future.

It has a bule LED on it that you may or may not find annoying. But other than that it has worked for me for months without a problem. What else can you ask for?

The product arrived on time and cost $15 less than Best Buy, so we are very happy with the price and quality of our purchase.

This power adapter is an off-brand but is inexpensive and seems to work just fine. Why pay extra just for the Wii name?

There isn't a whole lot to say other than "it works". I picked this up because I wanted to be able to easily move my Wii from my living room to my Family Room so I could play Monster Hunter Tri and not disturb my family. It powers my Wii just fine. Cable management is also a plus.
