5.0 out of 5 stars It works splendidly and doesn't mess up or flicker.
I have had my light for a while and it has not messed up or flickered at all. This is a perfect gift for a gameboy freak like me.

1.0 out of 5 stars I wish there had been some reviews when I bought mine...
What a waste of money. It is certainly neat looking but it doesn't work at all. I never used it enough to find out that it drains the batteries faster. I put it on my game boy, was never able to get it adjusted so that it wouldn't glare on the screen and took it off. Now I have no idea what to do with it. As someone else mentioned, it also appears to be so fragile...

What a waste of money. It is certainly neat looking but it doesn't work at all. I never used it enough to find out that it drains the batteries faster. I put it on my game boy, was never able to get it adjusted so that it wouldn't glare on the screen and took it off. Now I have no idea what to do with it. As someone else mentioned, it also appears to be so fragile that you are reluctant to try to adjust it much. Supposedly the "white light" was supposed to work perfectly with the game boy. I can't believe anyone actually tried this on a game boy and thought it was worth marketing.

Don't buy it. Get someone to hold a pen light over your shoulder so that it glares off the screen and you will see what a bad idea this is.

Years ago, when the original came out they had a combination magnify and light that worked quite well. Maybe it was because there were two lights on either side of the screen at the correct angle. It had it's own batteries so you weren't draining the game boy. And it didn't block any ports.

Bottom Line: JUST SAY NO!

I have to admit, this is a pretty nifty invention, but it does not work well with GameBoy. It drains the battery from the GameBoy about 3 times than normal. There is a tremendous glare and the light only covers about half the screen when you change the angle to get rid of the glare. Like any other parent, they'd say it is very bad for your eyes. So when you run to the next room in Zelda, arrows are flying at you and you can't see where they're coming from. You change the angle, find the enemies then you can't find Link. Then you switch back to original angle and by the time you get close enough to the enemy, you're dead. They aren't very flexible and seem so fragile that you don't want to bend it. When I got it in the mail, I was surprised how small it was. Also, if you are playing Pokemon or some 2 player game, the Worm Light blocks up the Link Cable slot. Please, think about this and I highly recommend you not to purchase this item.

The WormLight is SSOO cool! If you just plug it in to your Game Boy it turns on! It's that simple. It doesn't need any batteries or chargers... It uses the Game Boy batteries instead! It gives light in a dark/low light area for maximum playing ability. It also looks cool. You can also bend it anywhere. You can't afford to miss this great offer. :^)

5.0 out of 5 stars THE MIRACLE OF WORM LIGHT, August 9, 2000

During the past 2 years, I have tried numerous light/magnifiers. I even asked for and received the "HandyPak" for CGB as a Christmas gift. Although the joystick buttons and speakers were great, the light was hideous. Its heat, along with the magnifier screen, attracted lint to both screens. In addition, the glare was terrible and not all of the screen was illuminated. When I got the new Asteroids color game, I thought I had wasted my money. It was a black background and I could not make out any objects on the screen, even in bright light. Then, I found the Worm Light. It is compact, easy to use, requires no separate power source, AND illuminates the screen beautifully. True there is a slight glare in one tiny spot, but it has not affected my game play at all. In fact, my play has improved substantially as a result of being able to see the game screen so much better. Also, the true beauty of the CGB's color capabilities was evident with this wonderful product. If you only buy one accessory for your CGB, this is the ONE. It makes game play in total darkness possible and even FUN

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Compromise for a Real Problem., September 8, 2000

Gameboy Color is fun. But,let's face it. You need to buy a separate light attachment to see the screen. (You'll probably want the speaker attachment, too). There is at least one other option to this worm light. The alternative is an attachment that fits over the screen and requires batteries, but does magnify the screen. The worm light requires no batteries because it attaches to a port on the Gameboy Color. It comes in matching colors, if that's important to you. The worm light does a great job of lighting a decent portion of the screen. Depending on where you point the light, objects at the edge of the light beam will tend to disappear. By slightly moving the game itself you can compensate for that. Also, the light is maybe a little too bright and creates a glare in the form of an annoying reflection of the light on the screen. You can adjust how you hold the game to minimize the annoyance of this but it is always there. This light is not expensive and neither is the alternative. I plan to try both and see which is better. But, I've had satisfactory game play using this light in all lighting conditions. You need a light and this is a good compromise in less than full sunlight conditions.

My son, who is 13, loves this light. The light is very bright and the product works well. It does use up batteries quite a bit faster, but since he only needs to use the light occasionally it's not a problem.

i bought this a few weeks ago and it`s great! i don`t have to buy batteries for this thing. the only problem is that it drains the batteries faster. that`s why i give it 4 stars. if you have a rechargeable battery this gadget works just fine!

This is so easy to use. You just put it in your gameboy and it lights up. Thats it. It is the best light I have seen. It works in any light. This is a must buy for gameboy lovers.
