4.0 out of 5 stars Nice
What I wanted. Very nice bright purple, 7 strand. Seems to be the same quality of other 550 cord I've purchased, including Rothco.

2.0 out of 5 stars same as every other paracord on amazon
This is the same ROTHCO commercial class 3 paracord being sold elsewhere for much LESS, the same paracord that has MANY complaints about failing well below the rated 500lb test.

This seller's description is deceptive trying to fob this off as if it was the mil-spec paracord, not the cheap commercial stuff. ;<

bought 100' of red and black...

the pics show ROTHCO, but this is a LIE!

the red product *appears* to be valid paracord... since i'm not jumping out of plane or using this
to repel down a cliff, i don't give a romeo alpha whether or not it is the real thing...

HOWEVER, the black paracord i received was not only not ROTHCO, but is mislabeled JUNK

BEWARE of the seller 'USA Imports,' as you will receive BAD product...

the real insult, besides being lied to by deceptive product pictures by Amazon, is that it is not worth the time to return junk purchased like this...

if this keeps up with Amazon, i'm going shopping elsewhere...

2.0 out of 5 stars not real paracord, April 9, 2011

I got the Coyote Brown 100 foot length "para cord." It looks like para cord but it only has 4 strands of coarse short fiber nylon. I wouldn't trust this to hold 550lb any day. Next time I'll just go to a military surplus store and spend the extra few bucks. It'll work for a rifle sling or something though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rather small..., September 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Thought 'paracord' strength would be a higher grade, turned out to be very small cord and not very good for tying anything down - stretches and will not hold very much weight.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not quality., September 28, 2011

I made my boys paracord bracelets months ago with paracord I bought at a local military supply store. The bracelets held up for months and the "inner strands" of that cord were made of a heavy duty yarn. This paracord I bought online from Army Universe had several little white threads for the "inner strands". When I tried to burn 2 colors of cord together they wouldn't adhere. The bracelets kept falling apart with this stuff. The ones I made almost a year ago with "real paracord" are still together with no problems. I'm not convinced this is "real" paracord, the quality just isn't there, at least not for bracelet making when merging 2 colors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Close, but..., April 4, 2011

I recently ordered 100ft of the RED and it was not the ROTHCO brand cord as pictured.
(it was labeled "Tactical First Aid Cord" or something like that)
The cord itself is ok, but not identical in mfr. as regular Type III Commercial cord.
When de-cored, it flattens out awkward when weaving or plaiting (I am making nylon whips)
This is kind of the curse of ambiguous cord origins and especially incorrect item images.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for My Purposes, December 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As far as I can tell without scientific testing equipment, this is genuine paracord. The outer tube is of high quality and there are seven braided strands within. In an emergency this cord can be cut to length, as needed and separated into its outer sheath and seven strong strands. Lesser quality, imitation paracord often has unbraided, continuous strand fluff inside the outer tube.

I use parachute cord for crafts, lanyards, pulls or anything where a high quality cord of this type is desired. I also carry a 50' hank on wilderness hikes or when travelling. So far, I've added green and dayglo yellow/green to my collection. The colors I got are just as shown in the Amazon product description.

I was very satisfied with the seller of this item. It was sent promptly and I had no issues with the seller. However, I was surprised they were able to send it so quickly? since this must be a favorite with the Navy? I'm glad my sister in-law used it for cancer awareness bracelets. Anything to save boobs?-Not the ones in Washington or the rust-pickers in the Navy. SEMPER FI
