I haven't been able to compare breaking strength yet, but the purple stuff I bought seems high quality. Tough outer shell with seven independent inner cords. Hard to cut with scissors, I cut it open to check the cords as soon as it arrived. Bright purple, will be quite visible. End melted together easily over my snow peak camp stove. I suppose a lighter would work just as well.

Love this rope! I use it for hanging tarp from trees when camping, walking the dog and whatever else comes to mind. The best thing for me is that it holds knots very well. The choice of colors is fab, as I do like to be color-coordinated! I recommend it highly.

This 550 cord performs as expected. Not much to say about 550 cord...you can use it for almost anything. Always good to have some in your bag or pack...good camo pattern.

Didn't think I'd actually use up the entire 100 ft, but here I am. The product itself is great; 7 strands is the way to go in my opinion. I've used it to make bracelets, key chains, bottle holder/sling, a wrap for my knife/fire starter combo, and even a collar for my corgi. Yes, a paracord collar can give any adorable corgi that rugged look lol.

Well it is 7 strand paracord. It is not military as stated. And it is protective covering is one of the worst I have ever seen. I would recommend buying Rothco paracord over this.

Update: Just checked out the Olive Drab and it might be worse than the Coyote Brown. The covering is just garbage.

I purchased this because I build bows from PVC pipe. 550 Paracord is ideal for my needs, it makes an excellent string, will not break, and you can melt the ends to keep it from fraying.

Fine stuff, and has MANY more uses that that which I listed above.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I use the rope to tie off the legs of a dipole wire antenna, which is used in Amateur Radio. If the UV rating is high, then the rope should last several years under the hot South Texas Sun.

The shipping said 1-2 weeks, I got it in 3 days. The color was exactly the same as shown on my computer which was a relief considering I sell bracelets and my customer wants FSU colors. All in all this was a great experience.

Every infanrtry soldier knows how valuable 550 cord is. All of my tent ropes have been replaced with camo 550 cord. Camping clothesline is 550 cord. It's infinitely useful. ALWAYS have some in your ruck.

I am over 250lbs and using this rope i was able to support myself in a hammock on several overnight camping trips. I recommend a brighter color if you don't want it to blend in to the foliage
