Little Known but Exceptional Cole Porter Show, September 26, 2007

Cole Porter said his favorite song was "Love for Sale," and his favorite show "Nymph Errant," starring Gertrude Lawrence. The show opened in England in 1933. Only a short reprisal of the show played very briefly in New York in 1989. The result is that very few people are familiar with this show, one of Porter's best. Like "Kiss Me, Kate," virtually every number in this show is memorable.
