This review is from: Nymphs and the trout (Hardcover)
Frank Sawywer must have been a fishing machine. In his self-deprecating style, Frank Sawyer relates his fishing stories as he was invited to different places to fish. The man always caught fish, and on only 3 or 4 patterns that he created himself. I bought the book to get his recipe for the Sawyer nymph (pheasant tail) which is a totally different tie that any pheasant tail recipe I've ever seen. It is very effective, and well worth the price of the book. I recommend this book to those that are interested in learning more about a fishing legend. My only complaint was that he names a material for one of his patterns which cannot be found today, and he did not describe it's color, so I can't tie it.
