This ultra-smooth olive oil is made from the Nyons olive, the name given to the Tanche olives grown in and around the town of Nyons, in the Drôme. Golden-green in color, this oil is easily recognized by its aroma of Granny Smith apples and nuts. It is wonderfully soft oil, with no trace of bitterness. Olive oil from Nyons was, in 1994, the very first olive oil in France to be awarded the coveted AOC, or Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (the French system for designating and controlling the geography and quality of wines and other products).
