I am not familiar with Mariah Carey's pop work, but this carol she nails! Comparing the live and studio versions it's clear that her voice is best in studio. But she makes up for the lack of power with wonderful delivery and nuance. This is the best non-traditional version I have heard so far. I wish there had been more of the gospel choir which as often seems to be the case have many talented singers too.
