Paulo Moura & Ociladoce "Interpretam Dorival Caymmi" (Som Livre, 1991)
(Reissued by Biscoito Fino Records in 2007) Brazilian jazz saxophonist Paulo Moura recorded this contemplative tribute to the great samba-cancao composer Dorival Caymmi (a radio and recording star who was most famous in the 1940s and '50s, and was a favorite of Carmen Miranda). Originally released in 1982, on the Som Livre label. (DJ Joe Sixpack, Slipcue Guide To Brazilian Music) |
