This design simply doesn't work with hydration packs.

Mine has not worked since day one and I think it's due to a design flaw. Hydration packs are usually designed to hang in your backpack. The "bladder" hangs in there with the wide mouth opening at the top of the bag and the tubing/dispenser coming out of the bottom of the bag. (Looks like an "I.V." bag at a hospital) The drinking tube is then either strung through the backpack somehow or back up through another opening in the backpack so that the user can sip water out of the bladder from the outside of the bag. In other words, the tube is like a straw that runs from the bottom of the bladder, out through the backpack, and out to the user.

This design is awesome for sipping beverages. Attaching the drinking tube to the bottom of the bladder ensures that you never get bubbles in your drinking tube and you are able to get every drop out of your hydration pack. When you bite down on the "bite valve" and drink, you always get water right from the first sip and you NEVER see air bubbles in your drinking tube.

This system is designed optimally for sipping your water, but is awful for the design of the product sold here. The dual water mister/sipper just doesn't work together. Don't get me wrong, the sipper on this item works just fine, just like all other sippers. However the water mister actually PUMPS air into your hydration bladder and tube. The air bubbles prevent the mister from misting, so you pump the trigger harder to try to get mist only to make it even worse. Then you have to suck the air back out using the sipper. It's just really stupid.

In summary:

There's a reason why they design spray bottles the way they do and why they never work when you turn them upside down. I can't believe this thing is still on the market!
