Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Some things begin in Florida. Some things take flight from there. And some things end there. Diamond Teeth Mary McClain lived there till she was in her 90's. She got her sparkling tooth there. Sang her blues there (and all around the country). And Mary died there. Jane Pitrelli was born there, right in the middle. Then began a restless musical journey that would touch many shores, and lives. If Piano were the name of a town in New England, or a village in Eire, or a street in lower Manhattan, then it could be said, 'Jane has lived there.' If Piano were the name of a beast of burden, and of freedom, then it could be said, this strange creature loves to be touched by her. To feel her anger, her sadness, her love. Pianimal instinct. Let us venture into the world, on a quest. One Way To Leave New York is to take the guitar. By plucking or strumming the strings, which are strung along a fretted neck and above a 'box' or 'body', the mechanical disturbance of an elastic medium (air in this case) is effected, resulting in sound waves. If these sound waves are vivid, sensual, loud, you can ride them anywhere. Across the country. Around the world. Like a passport. Like a first language that can be understood by anyone, but spoken by few. And spoken fluently by still fewer. Orbiting Souls. Al Pitrelli took his guitar into every corner of the apparent universe. And then into his soul. You know, that nearly spherical, translucent and somewhat gelatinous thing that orbits about the human being. Emotional gravity, or 'soul freight', will interrupt this orbit. Ebullience will free the orbit. How? By causing the release of argon, a gaseous byproduct of both the 'resting' and ebullient emotional states. (This colorless, odorless chemical element of the noble gases, constituting nearly 1% of the atmosphere, is also used in incandescent light bulbs, radio tubes, etc.) Sometimes, the union of two beings will create a single orbit-the 'path of an object in a field of force surrounding another body.' And this path could be described by sound waves.and these sound waves might also be called music, if they are created in a certain way, in an elastic medium. That's how O'2L came into being.
