It's important to note if you wish to order customized/personalized copies for different people, you must order each copy separately. If you order more than one copy thinking you will be able to customize each one, it will not work - you will receive multiple copies of the same book. (that's the only reason I rated this as a four star as it could be more clear about the order process for ordering more than one custom copy) So, if you want to personalize books for separate individuals, simply place a separate order for each book you wish to customize. The process is fun and simple. I only wish there were more pages to customize. The technology is Crazy Cool! It Rocks! I can't wait to receive each order I customized for my daughter and son featuring my favorite photos of them and their artwork. I'll report back once I receive my books : )

Update: My teenagers received their personalized books and LOVE them! While at work, I even received a text from my teenage son thanking me for it. I'm sure many may understand a positive reaction from a teenager willing to text/mom with a 'cool' and a thank you is something.

Seeing some of the critical remarks - this book is more than a 'scrapbook' of photos. To me it is a testament to our democracy and the graceful transition of parties. This is also called out in the book as well as many other facts and photos. Even the affirmation included from Colin Powell about the love each of the candidates have for our country is moving. It is a keepsake and one I'm going to order for myself!

I love the print-on-demand technology - it is revolutionizing the publishing industry. The hp technology is removing barriers to entry for authors/illustrators to share their stories and art. I independently published my first children's book Patulous, The Different Caterpillar through Book Surge an Amazon company using their POD technology too which uses hp Indigo Digital Press. Wonderful. This is the same technology which makes books like the Obama Time Capsule possible.

Book is beautifully done. It's a great memento of a piece of history. I bought it as a surprise for my daughter. It would have been nice to have the option to add a few more personal pictures. That part was limited, but it's still a wonderful keepsake at a reasonable price. It was very easy to personalize.

I just needed to share w/ you that this was a Father's Day gift for our Dad. He has already received it and is Over the Moon with this book! My mother said if we never give him another present for the rest of his life, it is ok, because this one will be impossible to top. There are 3 of us daughters, all living in a different town from my parents; therefore, we have not been able to view the quality of the book. My parents assure us that it is top notch and I might say, they think we paid far more than the $40 total cost. Kudos to the creators of this book!

I can recall when this book retailed for $34. Is this price an error?

This is a beautiful book. The images are gorgeous and capture a sense of being there that sets the perfect context for an experiment in user generated content. The result is a new and special kind of book that I hope we see more of in the future!

I purchased the book for my sister's Christmas present. Image the oohs and ahhs when the gift was opened. My sister was extremely touched by the personalization of the book, stated that she will keep the book in a protective cover so that it can be part of a family heirloom that she can pass on to her son or daughter. Great gift. Now everyone in my family wants one!

The Obama Time Capsule lives up to its title.
It encapsulates a thrilling, historic moment and enables us to include a personal connection to the story. The photos are memorable throughout the book, many images not seen during the months of hyper-coverage. Being able to insert my own material was exciting. Friends are awed by the back cover of my edition because I was fortunate to have a photo of Barack Obama and me, and there it is in high-quality among the other excellent images. More great memories! This really is the future of personal publishing.

I loved my personalized book, The Obama Time Capsule. It is a really neat keepsake and I love the touches that make it personal to our family and experience. I think this election meant a great deal to so many people and this book captures that spirit so perfectly! Thanks to Rick Smolan and Jennifer Erwitt for coming up with a really unique memento. It will be something I treasure!

Many publications have commemorated the 2008 election, however, if you followed the campaigns, were an Obama supporter, went to the inauguration, and in other ways took an interest in the 2008 election, then this picture book will help you personally record and relive those events. Its unique quality it that it lets you highlight your presence among the millions of citizens who supported and participated in the election and inauguration process by including your own photos in the copy which already includes numerous photos that only select individuals were allowed to get. Regrettably, there are not as many opportunities as one might like. The price is competitive and the printing is high quality. Be sure to use high quality photos of your family and this volume will show that You Were There!
