It is a known fact that in order to create a 50% increase in your sub bass system you would need to double the power. For example, if you are hitting 135 dB's with an amp that produces 500 watts of RMS power, in order to hit 138 dB's (50% louder) you would need 1000 watts of RMS power. Taking it one step further, to double your dB''s (increase of 6 dB) you would need an additional 2000 watts of RMS power. However, if you are looking to add bass to your car audio system, but don't have the money to buy a new amp, you might want to consider upgrading your speaker box instead. Now you may be asking yourself how a simple subwoofer enclosure is going to achieve the same results as adding massive amounts of power? The short answer is by cutting a port hole in your sealed enclosure. With a sealed sub box you are hearing only half of what your subwoofer is producing. However, when you make access to the back side of your woofer via a port hole, the sound can increase up to double compared to designs where the woofer's back side is sealed off. There is no greater example of this than the "Labyrinth Power Port" that Obcon Sub Bass incorporates into all of their specialty truck boxes. Without adding an ounce of power to your current system the "Labyrinth Power Port" proves to be an easy and effective alternative to upgrading your low end on a limited budget.

We purchased this for our 2010 Chevy Silverado. it fit perfectly under the backseat. Only complaint is that I wish it sat a little further back as there is no room to put anything under.

I looked at custom made boxes, boxes from several other online shops, and even building one myself. This was by far the cheapest solution.
The fit under the seat is nearly perfect. Quality is very good (no seal issues with my sample). Sound is good, not the perfect tight bass from a good sealed box, but it does sound good at lower volume. The port seems to make the sound more boomy at higher volume. Price is Excellent (Nearly cheaper than I could make one). If you're looking for cheap, but decent sounding bass, I recommend it. For SPL or perfect sound, you may want to look elsewhere.

i have two Kicker cvr 4ohm 10s in this enclosure with a kenwood 1000 watt amp, the box sounds ok and hits hard but the subs definitely sounded better in a sealed enclosure, i dont think there is enough air space for the low long bass that i am accustomed to, but for now it does the trick, box came neatly packaged and ahead of projected delivery time with insulation and terminals prewired for subs to drop right in, box design and quality is pretty good although there were a few spots that needed to be resealed only because i am anal about having gaps where the seems meet, it could have done without the extra caulk though, if your not a bass freak and want a box thats out of the way and unnoticeable then this is the perfect box for you, otherwise get a sealed enclosure
