The device works well, no issues pairing or using the USB cable. Data rates are as advertised and do vary based on the type of vehicle it is plugged into. I do find fault with the suplied cable however. I can think of little reason to have a 4+ foot long cable for this device. It is wireless to most computers or phones so where the device lives is now just complicated by a long stiff cord. IF the manufacturer offered a dongle type solution I would order it. Overall 8 out of 10. For the premium price I expected premium equipment. There is no description of the cable provided, and there is also no picture.

I bought this a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped playing with it yet! I am using the bluetooth feature for the Torque software on a Samsung Galaxy S (Android 2.2). As soon as I plug in the scanner it goes through a startup sequence that takes all of about 10 seconds, then my phone connects to it and all of a sudden I have all the live data! No connection problems this far, it's never disconnected and I have used it for a trip that took about an hour. I love the fact that it connects through a cable that way you can plug the cable in (if the plug is in a tight location) then plug in the adapter to the cable whenever you want to use it.

looked at many different obd2 systems this really is the most versatile, expandable and affordable system I've found. There is customer support and forums updates available and more on the way. This unit compares to some really high end ones, you won't be able to flash computers as far as I can tell but if you buy the nicer programs it can do just about everything some $1500 system will.

I bought a cheap OBD2 adapter from amazon before which even though worked but was very very slow.

This is well constructed and can handle faster communication which is very useful when logging live. I have used this adaptor with android Torque application and very happy with the results.

I have used it extensively with my BMW M and Mercedes AMG cars on the drag strip and it works perfectly fine.

Just to let everyone know that despite of the professional construction and good communication, this cannot be used for programming cars and you need to buy dedicated programming adapters separately.

I'm a car nut and as most of my cars are OBDII I needed something that would help me diagnose error codes and fix the cars without resorting to car mechanics that I don't trust for the most part. This fills the bill - it can connect to my laptop or via bluetooth to my Android phone. Already paid for itself by helping me pass emissions with my WRX.
