5.0 out of 5 stars Like to read your Kindle 2 naked? Get this sleeve.
I prefer to read my Kindle 2 naked (Kindle 2 with no cover, me with clothes on). The Kindle 2 is really nice and slim and I do not like the extra bulk and weight of a cover while I am reading nor when carrying the K2 in my purse. This sleeve is exactly what I wanted. It looks really nice and protects the K2.

1.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to remove Kindle from slip case
The idea of a "slip-case" is that the Kindle will SLIP in and out, which it doesn't do easily. The case is way too tight and requires serious effort to remove the Kindle (either pinched fingers or pliers will work with effort). I made a small hole in the bottom to relieve the air-pressure which helps some, but it is just too tight a fit. I can't believe someone would...

5.0 out of 5 stars Like to read your Kindle 2 naked? Get this sleeve., April 7, 2009
This review is from: OCTOVO Seamless Leather Slip Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle) - Black Embossed (Electronics)

You do need to realize that the sleeve does have a front and a back. Notice this sentence in the description: "It is important to note that the seamless sleeve is custom designed to snugly fit the Kindle 2 and therefore the Kindle will only slide into the sleeve in one direction". The front of the K2 is slightly wider than the back of the K2. If you force the K2 into the sleeve incorrectly, it is extremely hard to get it out. I did it once and had to have my husband remove the K2 from the sleeve because I could not get it out. The difference in the shape (front to back) of the sleeve is so small that it is hard to know the difference just by looking at the end of the sleeve. I now know what the front texture/pattern looks like on mine compared to the pattern on the back and that is how I know I am putting my K2 into the sleeve correctly. Also, it does take a little more force when putting it in the sleeve incorrectly. If the K2 does not seem to be going in easily, flip it over because you are probably put it in the sleeve incorrectly.

I love mine and will probably also buy the Navy one soon. I would love one in a true red color instead of the wine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! :-), April 11, 2009
This review is from: OCTOVO Seamless Leather Slip Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle) - Black Embossed (Electronics)
When the Belkin neoprene case was backordered, I bought the $25 version of the Octo sleeve, instead. I'm glad I did. I've had it a week, now, and believe it to be better than the Belkin: no zippers to fool with; more protection from the rigid sleeve; a nice, firm grip; and it's *very* nice looking. The $89 version must be elegant, indeed! :-)

Unlike the previous reviewer, I've had no difficulties sticking my kindle into the sleeve any old way and then easily getting it back out again. I have found it a bit easier to pull back out, though, if I stick it in head first. That also leaves the USB port exposed for recharging. :-)

I have had the Octo cover since April. It is a lovely, well made accessory, which provides superb protection for the Kindle. I wanted a hard sided case, which would provide protection for the screen, in tightly packed luggage. It does that. I wanted a great looking cover to compliment the Kindle, which was a birthday gift, from my wife and children. It surely does that!

I rate this product outstanding. Simple! Elegant! Functional! 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best cover for portability, January 12, 2010
This review is from: OCTOVO Seamless Leather Slip Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle) - Black Embossed (Electronics)
I have purchased two of these croc-embossed covers (one for my husband) and am happy with them. They're excellent protection but add very little to the overall dimensions of a "naked" Kindle device. I also have a Cole Haan woven leather, book-style case that is very nice but is a bit too bulky to be carried in some of my smaller handbags without extensive manipulation of the contents of the bag. The size of the Kindle increases only negligibly in the OCTO case so I find the OCTO to be the most versatile cover from a portability standpoint. I'm sure I'll appreciate the size of this case even more when I travel with it and the space in my carry-on bag is limited.

5.0 out of 5 stars Right Choice!, June 15, 2010

I debated the cover versus the sleeve for quite a while until I decided that as portability was a key for me, the sleeve would be smaller and lighter, and I like reading the Kindle out of the case. Then the choice was whether to go for the extra cost of leather or to stick with the faux leather. I purchased the wine colored leather edition and couldn't be happier. As other reviews have noted, there definitely is a front and back to the sleeve, but as the leather pattern is different on each side, it's easy to remember which side is the front. Initially the sleeve is very tight, but over time it has loosened a bit making it easy to slide in and out, without worrying about the Kindle slipping out on it's own.

I was lucky to find a wine colored sleeve, I guess the only readily available ones are now in only black or white. But whatever the color, I don't think you'll be disappointed with this item.

The case is way too tight and requires serious effort to remove the Kindle (either pinched fingers or pliers will work with effort). I made a small hole in the bottom to relieve the air-pressure which helps some, but it is just too tight a fit. I can't believe someone would make a well made product as it is, and make it NOT FUNCTIONAL. I really feel I've wasted my $80 (way too much in the first place)and I can't return it as I've made a hole in the bottom which helps some, but not enough to make up for the tight fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars slip sliding away, June 10, 2009

This review is from: OCTOVO Seamless Leather Slip Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle) - Black Embossed (Electronics)
The octo leather slip cover is truly beautiful as well as practical.

I did have some trouble getting used to the fit. Now that I have read the instructions and had customer service from Octo email me, I now insert it in the slip cover correctly. (the back of the K2 slids in against the Octo logo)

Now that I know the fit when done incorrectly is tight, I insert my K2 (in the wrong way) and use the case as a holder when reading.

The K2 in that position is very user friendly. When you have lemons ... make leomon aid.

The OCTO Kindle 2 Sleeve is wonderful. Lovely black leather. Kindle fits very nicely. Slides in and out easily (when it's in the right direction). I wasn't happy that it took 10 days to be delivered, but I was glad that it arrived 5 days earlier than the estimated delivery date. It arrived before Memorial Day Weekend travel which suited me just fine. A beautiful product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shrinks in the sun!!!, October 20, 2010

This review is from: OCTOVO Seamless Leather Slip Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle) - Black Embossed (Electronics)
I loved this cover - it fit perfectly, was so chic and classy looking. I got it in January, shortly after I got my Kindle 2 for a Christmas gift. I used it for a good four months....then it got hot outside and I wanted to use it to take my Kindle to the pool. Oops. After being out in the sun, the cover completely shrunk! So much that I literally could not get the Kindle back out after bringing inside. I was afraid I was going to break it I had to pull so hard to get it out. Unfortunately, Amazon would not take it back as it had been too long since the 30 day return window or whatever it is. I emailed to tell them the situation, and still, no dice. I am disappointed since this was an expensive cover, but I wish this review had been posted before I bought it. Hopefully this will save someone else some trouble! I ended up getting the faux leather pink cover from Octo and it works great.

I loved this cover and it wore well for 10 months. Then it got left in the sun in 90 degree weather and shrunk. It's too tight to use anymore.
