Non-standard hole spacing,

I bought this OCZ bracket to hold the Intel X25-M 160GB SSD I ordered separately, not realizing that Intel includes a bracket in the package. The OCZ bracket is small and aluminum compared to the larger (longer, deeper and heavier) steel Intel bracket.
When I tried to use the OCZ bracket, though, I was puzzled to find that the mounting holes on the side of the bracket didn't match that of a 3.5" drive. My Antec P180 case doesn't use slide-in brackets for hard drives, so it didn't fit there. I wondered if it would fit cases where slide-in brackets were used, but when I compared the hole spacing to some spare brackets I had, it didn't match those either. Checking other review sites, I see that some people had the same issue I did, while others said that the bracket fit their case perfectly. You should check your own case before ordering. The holes in the OCZ bracket are at 3/4" and 2-3/8" from the first hole, closest to one end of the bracket. Needless to say, the Intel bracket had standard-spaced holes matching a 3.5" drive and worked for me. The OCZ bracket did not.

I have six solid state drives now and space is an issue (I love speed, having multiple boot options, and hate spinning drives). I received my first Ocz SSD bracket when I purchased one of their 120 GB drives. I love the bracket. Other SSD brackets take more space then they need to (two to three times thicker then the drive). None of my SSD drives get hot so I don't need a lot of space between them (as long as your case has good cooling).
I would highly recommend these drive brackets to anyone that has 2.5" SSD drives that need to mount in a 3.5" drive bay.

Poor design, won't fit my rails,

I think this is a very poor design, and might not work if you have a tool-less case. The drive is mounted very close to the edge (to make room for the OCZ logo?), which means the bolts of the rails that go into the screw holes hit up against the 2.5" drive on one side. Also, the hole spacing seems to be nonstandard - I couldn't get my rails to fit without bending them. Finally, the screw holes are a bit too tight, making it hard to place the rails. In the end I could not get this adaptor bracket to work for my case.

This is a light weight, alluminum bracket for fitting a 2.5" haddrive into a 3.5" drive bay. SOOOO many people mistake these 3.5" bay adapters as 3.5" converters. They are not. These will NOT work in a hot swapable drive solution. They will NOT fit into a 3.5" harddrive mount inside a case, regardless if you have standard or non-standard mounting solutions. The screw holes are appropriately sized for a 3.5" bay and fit my rails without being flimsy. One of the design aggrivations I run into is when a bracket like this is flimsy and hold rails in their slots, meaning they were meant to be screwed into the bay and not railed in. This however works with my rails and holds up without bending. I wish it would hold 2. There are those out there.
Again, this is NOT a converter. I don't know WHY so many people buy these things, thinking they are converters and then give them low ranks because they were the ones who were confused. But...then again I understand less why there aren't MORE converters out there. ICY seems to be the only game in town when everyone and their grandmother makes these bay brackets. People have more harddrive slots than 3.5" bays. It would make more sense to have more of that already easy to use solution.

Must have for 2.5in SSD Drives.
Picked one up for my OCZ. Mounted perfectly in floppy slot. Mounting screws fit nicely. Hard to find online. Amazon price and delivery is excellent

Works exactly how it should. Turn that 2.5'' into a 3.5'' with only four screws. Stick it into your computer's slot. Screw it till you're finished. Clean up. Good to go.

Terrible design,
This review is from: OCZ Solid State Drive 3.5-Inch Adaptor Bracket 2 OCZACSSDBRKT2 (Personal Computers)
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they made this bracket but not only is it a nonstandard length (much shorter than an actual 3.5" drive) the actual mounting holes are not standard 3.5" drive sized either, so even if your case lets you mount the shorter length you'll have to use a smaller screw size. Not a big deal if you have a thin drive case without dampening but on any dampened mount or many rail systems you'll be stuck unable to screw anything in. It's almost as if the people making this adapter didn't bother to test it at all on actual cases before releasing it.

I have three of these in three computers and haven't had the installation problems that others have had. The computer cases are Antec Twelve Hundred, Antec Six Hundred, and APEX TX-381-C. My one complaint is that the SSD mounts on the side rather than in the center of the bracket, so in some cases such as the Antec Twelve Hundred, care has to be taken that that long screws don't push into the SSD. Other than that, this is a well made little bracket for mounting your SSD in a 3.5" drive bay.

Does not fit Antec P180/183 HD Bays,
This review is from: OCZ Solid State Drive 3.5-Inch Adaptor Bracket 2 OCZACSSDBRKT2 (Personal Computers)
I'm uncertain what bays this adapter is supposed to allow the 2.5 inch SSD to fit into, but it does not fit into either of my Antec cases. Needless to say, this was a frustrating discovery, as this was supposed to be the system drive for my new PC, and now I'm stymied due to a non-fitting bracket.
