I have accidentally left this drive in my pants pocket on TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS!
Twice it washed (with liquid All), spun, rinsed and spun dry! The data wasn't disturbed in the slightest and I continue to use it with confidence!

I've never had a Flash Drive fail on me in the past several years, and this flash drive still works 100% after two months of heavy use. What makes this flash drive more reliable than others? I can't say as they're all the same to me.
The main reason I chose this particular drive is the "DIESEL" brand, as ridiculous as it may sound. I tune diesel vehicles for a hobby and I load tune files on the flash drive all the time. Some of my customers are amused by the "DIESEL" drive and they ask where I bought it. I'm however giving this product 4 stars because it uses a detachable clear plastic cap that can easily be lost. It'd be nice if it had a capless retractable USB design, or if the cap is tethered to the flash drive to prevent losing it. ======== UPDATE May 26 2009 The clear plastic end of the flash drive broke off. It's the part that connects to a keychain or lanyard. I lost the drive until someone found it on the ground (outside). I bought crazy glue to put the plastic end back on and it's holding up fine. I would change my item score to 2 out of 5 stars for this serious flaw - I could have permanently lost my flash drive with valuable data stored on it!

Works fine, but poor design,

This is a compact USB drive, about the size of my old Lexar Firefly. It is also pretty fast, 6.6 MB/s write speed and 19.1 MB/s reading on my computer. But the cover over the USB portion does not snap in place, it just slides on and it will probably slide off eventually. Plus you have to set it aside while you are using the drive so it could get lost before then. The keyring loop on the back is a super thin piece of plastic and the drive broke off of my keychain after about 3 weeks of use. I notched the clear plastic piece on the back with a hacksaw blade to match the groove along the sides and superglued a wire around the end to act as a new loop. It totally ruined the look of the drive, but hopefully it will work.

Nice small fast drive and the price is right.
I removed the caps from my drive because I don't see how they serve any practical purpose, USB cables don't have caps and they work just fine.

Very small. Construction seems solid. It has a separate cap, and no lanyard included. Red flashing light for drive activity. No U3 software.
HD Tach 3.0.4.0 = 8.7 MB/s Burst Speed Pros: Small size Cons: Separate cap Lanyard not included

Does just what I expected it to do,

Works fine no issues...very pleased with it. Seems durable despite the pic someone posted...im sure if you pulled on it with pliers it would come apart but for normal key chain type use seems perfectly fine...it's plastic so if you need a really high impact usb drive you can find ones that are rubberized or have foam on them etc. Otherwise this should do the trick.

I bought this for one reason, to use it for Xbox external storage, and it didn't work. I'm sure its a fine USB drive but it didn't work for this purpose.

Went bad on me within 3 months of buying it, a few days after the warranty expired it just went dead and went dead with a very valuable file on it, I did manage to recover the file, thank goodness, otherwise I'd be out of a job right now. will think twice about getting another OCZ Diesel flash drive in future.

Unreliable - Not Worth The Money!,
This review is from: OCZ Diesel 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive OCZUSBDSL (Personal Computers)
These Flash Drives usually work for a few months, then the problems start. Loss of data, corrupt files, and re-formatting is required on my stick almost monthly.
I've had 3 so far, the first 8-GB Drive failed - dead! After only moderate use, the second 8-GB Drive still works, but it is slow. The new 16-GB version is just plain junk, needs constant formatting, and the files are almost always unreadable after a couple of uses. I bought them from another company, and when I went to their site to write my unfavorable review, I noticed that they no longer sell these flash drives! No Wonder... I think that it would be safer to put your files on Floppy Discs'!
