5.0 out of 5 stars 12 GB W7 on i7 Flies!
Combined with another package of 6GB from a different source in a Asus P6T6 WS Revolution with a 920 CPU running W7 Ultimate RC x64 makes for a sweet machine that will serve me for a number of years.

Haven't got into overclocking this machine yet because at idle, with 15 programs running, it is not breathing hard. But I am not a gamer, just a worker bee...

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective... did not work on ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
First of all I've used OCZ branded memory previously and felt they were good. This is why I bought this product. But nowadays, it seems like memory compatibility and/or quality issues are the main problems why custom/diy builds don't work initially. I built a i7 920 D0 system with an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 board. I did alot of research on memory because my last system build...

Highly recommended on price/performance ratio.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily over clocked on intel i7 platform - low latency, February 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: OCZ OCZ3P1600LV6GK DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 6GB Platinum XTC Triple Channel Kits (Personal Computers)
Installed these (6GB) memory on ASUS P6T OC motherboard and over clocked the i7 920 process to 3.6GHz and memory speed to 1443 MHz and system is very stable. Ran prime95 for 30 minutes with no issues. Tests by Sisoft and Everest shows this configuration outperforms i7 Extreme edition (3.2GHz) by average 9%.

Great memory with low latency at 1.65v which is critical as Intel says not to increase memory voltage above 1.65v as it could damage the memory controller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective... did not work on ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, January 6, 2010

This review is from: OCZ OCZ3P1600LV6GK DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 6GB Platinum XTC Triple Channel Kits (Personal Computers)
I did alot of research on memory because my last system build took a long time due to finding compatible memory. OCZ Platinum modules looked appealing because they're cheaper than the popular Corsair Dominators and have faster timings. When I recieved them, I plugged them in and things went downhill. Problems occurred immediately during Win7 64 bit Pro install. It choked 5 mins into installation citing h/w issues. Ran it's memory diagonostic tool and it showed failures. Double checked by running MemTest86+ and also saw failures. Ran speed at 1600MHz (where it's supposed to be rated at), 1333, 1066 as well as 7-7-7, 8-8-8, and 9-9-9 timings with voltage changes to spec. After two weeks of experimenting, these memories never worked. I spent a little time trying to figure out if it was a bad stick but it looked like all were bad. Asus has a QVL approved memory list for my mobo and this memory wasn't on it. Sent these back to Amazon for refund. Great service. I ended up buying lower level Corsair memory which worked out of the packaging. Got Win7 to install, at least. However these didn't run reliably at 1600 but ran great at 1333. I wasn't satisfied and finally caved in and bought Corsair Dominators from Amazon. My system has been running great since. Moral of the story for me is to buy the best memory, period. Don't skimp and save yourself 6 weeks of pain to get a new system build up and running.

Got 6 of them plugged in for 12GB on Asus P6DX58 premium.
Runs perfectly at 1804MHz under 1.65V.
43 degrees Celsius.
Absolutely a good buy! Highly recommended.

This memory is awesome. I was looking for the lowest latencies at 1.65v and this kit have it. This memory are among the best options for an i7 LGA1366, specially if you are going to overclock your CPU.

I have my Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.5GHz and the system is stable even under the highest loads. I have the memory at 1664Mhz 7-7-7-20 T1 1.65v, and performs admirably! Awesome memory and excellent compatibility. Very good quality and very overclockeable! This is for sure one of the best memory in the market!

5.0 out of 5 stars It is an excellent deal, July 29, 2009

It had received so many bad reviews. That is why it is on sale @ $91. Either I am lucky, or OCZ has fixed the QA problem. My set not only runs @1600MHz, 7-7-7-24 as sepc. also at least 1866MHz, 8-8-8-24, @1.64v, in ASUS P6t delux. it passes memtest86+ as well as 3D and PC vantage. My guess is that OCZ overly fixed it. I think the price of DDR3 at this speed should be close to the bottom. SO buy it if you need or even just for fun. BTW, the OCZ's net-like heatsink performs better than common heat spread. I checked its temparature between heatsink and memory chips during memtest86+ @1866MHz, just 46c.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value for Money, July 19, 2009

Value for money, manage to achieve about 1540+mhz at 7-7-7-20 settings with an overclock of 3800 mhz with the i7 920. Stable operations, running CFD for over 5 days straight at 100% CPU.

Will get another 6G if the prices drop below $90!.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best bang for the buck, April 23, 2009
This review is from: OCZ OCZ3P1600LV6GK DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz 6GB Platinum XTC Triple Channel Kits (Personal Computers)
Lowest latency on fastest DDR3 at a reasonable price. With a large mail in rebate, it is a no brainer.
