Amazing Performance!!!,

I had an amd x2 4200, then i changed it for a amd x2 5000 black edition, but i kept the amd's fan cooler from the 4200, i needed to look for another fan cooler because the stock cooler was ok, but i wanted to improve my temperatures, well... what a great investment i have done!!!! AMAZING is the word to describe this Fan Cooler, it went from 30º idle to 20ºidle, and from 46º full load to 34º full load, all this with the processor overclocked to 3.1GHz..!!!
I recommend this fan for both amd and intel processors, it's a great product, and surely a great investment compared against water solutions

OCZ Vendetta 2 cools 6400+ dual 3.2Mhz to high 30C's,

I had the stock amd cooler that came with my 6400+ cpu and when rendering it would get up to 65C - this is both cores at 100 percent for 45 min to an hour.
Idle temps with stock cooler were low 50's high 40's constatnly. In comes OCZ Vendetta 2 I had read about 10 reviews from over clocking websites and saw this cooler place in the top 5 if not second in almost every test, so I bought it. temps idle at 38-40C and only go up to low 50C when rendering - all temps taken with speedfan and coretemp which are within 1C of each other on my computer. Its big! It works! If you have a small mid size case get some measurements this barely fit in my workstation tower. and if you want to mount the fan under the cooling fins the fan falls off the anti-vibration feet - just throw a small rubber band around the whole assembly - works perfectly.

I recently upgraded from the original Vendetta which has a 92mm fan to this new Vendetta 2 and its 120mm fan. My current system which has a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 CPU is overclocked at 3.55GHz, the CPU stays at 39C idle and 65C heavy load in Orthos.
Now I expected nothing less from the Vendetta 2 but i am not completely sold on the 120mm OCZ fan. The original Vendetta's 92mm fan did a good job of pushing hot air away from the cooler but the fan was annoyingly loud if the fan speed was set over 50%. The OCZ Vendetta 2 fan does a better job of minimizing noise but this 120mm fan still had issues. After using the fan control setting on my motherboard, sometimes on boot-up the fan would get stuck under 300RPM. After a few reboots and turning the fan control in the BIOS on/off it finally goes back to its normal RPM. Needless to say it's very annoying and i know i got a faulty fan. I tried my 120mm SilverStone case fans with the cooler and fan control and i had no problems with it. I just bought the cooler and i haven't replaced the fan yet but i eventually will. Scythe, SilverStone & Noctua are all brands that are known for their build quality and almost noiseless fans. For the price it's a top performer and also for the price there's sometimes a sacrifice in overall quality.

First of anything BE CAREFULL AMD's OWNERS, this coolin' was not designed for us!!! I own an AMD Phenom 9950+ w stock fan + MSI K9A2 platinum 4x2gb corsair dominator ddr2 1066, the cooler bracket for AM2 only can be used in one positions, interfering w memory aluminum dissipators, also if you can remove the dissipators (not recomended!!!) that wont be the perfect position of the cooler, leaving the air fluid in vertical way, when the best installation will be in horizontal wave. I need to make a little modd of this cooler to make it fit into my mobo: bend at 45 degrees the base aluminum foils, also move the fan position 1cm to avoid shocking with memorys... the result: w stock fan 39ºC idle Vs Vendetta2 + artic silver5 29ºC idle... nothing bad but a lot of work to make it happend... OCZ remain AM2 users!!!

Its Big,

This cooler is big, I was not expecting how big it will be unless i received it. I cannot close my casing anymore, but its performance is best for which it still gets 5/5 from my side. I was thinking of Purchasing a liquid cooler for my Processor (which i recently upgraded to Intel Q9550) but when i checked the reviews about OCZ Vendetta 2 I dropped my plans for liquid system. Its wonderful, no noise, keeps my processor cool even under heavy loads. Installation is also easy.

Does what it's designed to do and looks great doing it.
Regarding cleaning your cooler -- a word of warning for anyone who's used to cleaning off excess thermal interface material (like Arctic Silver, etc.) off their CPU and cooler using rubbing alcohol: Aluminum and alcohol do NOT mix. If you use the same isopropyl rubbing alcohol to clean fingerprints off the aluminum fins on the OCZ Vendetta 2 that you use to clean the surfaces where the cooler meets the CPU, you will ruin the nice shiny finish of the fins. Alcohol tarnishes aluminum.

The water pump in my liquid cooling setup recently went down, so I purchased this. Everything you'd need for installation comes in the box, straight forward installation. It is VERY large - even in a full sized tower it was a bit of a beast to install on my old Striker Extreme motherboard. After a few (sigh) Thermal Paste mishaps everything seems okay. Not a very loud fan, does perform well.

It's a monster no bout about it, went with another users recommendation to put the cooler on the mobo before putting the mobo in the case, it is easer this way, trust me. Very Quiet, you should have a substantial case for this bugger, you'll need one as I found out the hard way my older Mid tower wouldn't accommodate the cooler. I got the Thermaltake Armor VA8000BWS ATX/MicroATX/ExtendATX/BTX Full Tower PC Case (Black, this case may be over kill but I was really impressed

I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with a sustained overclock of 3.0 ghz with absolutely no problems. The installation can be a little challenging with certain motherboard and case combinations because of its size, but its well worth the effort.

folks, I used this cooler in my build of Q9550 intel quad core, EVGA 790I ultra, gtx260 build. I didn't post this review for a while since I really didn't abuse and test this product. I finally have been tearing this thing up testing wheather it can handle the mess or do I have to move on to liquid cooling. This is in conjunction with my Antec 1200 case, I have my cpu cranked up 3.82 ghz, I thought I would be blowing the doors in the temperature dept, but to my surprise, the cpu never went over 55c under full load, I idle at 37-40 depending on ambient temp, from my research these temps are a little on the low side = great performance. Most people also want to know the noise factor, this thing is quiet even at full speed. I have the fan maxed for superior cooling, I can't hear it! the case fans, and video card fan makes much more noise. I picked this thing up for 29.99, due a rebate. But equivalent products cost almost twice as much. This is very simiar to offering by xigmatek for the similar price. The biggest drawback is that you need to purchase a backplate, if you do not like the pushpin install. From what I've read the pressure backplate is the way to go in order to get the best performance out.
