what they dont tell you...,

This review is from: OCZ Sabre OLED Gaming Keyboard OCZKBSBRUS (Personal Computers)
not a review, just FYI for prospective customers:
with current (and only) available drivers, the OLEDs have a built in 'screensaver' of 3 minutes. Its a feature confirmed by OCZ on their forums to prevent the OLEDs from burning out. so if you're wanting to use the OLEDs for say a Flight Sim and dont touch any of the OLEDs for 3 minutes, they will all go blank/off. If you press one of the OLEDs, they will all come on again, but you will invoke the associated function of the pressed OLED button in the process - which is undesirable unless you keep one of the OLEDs dedicated to waking all the OLEDs up...which means you really only have 8 OLEDs to play with. You cannot choose to turn this feature off. I find it infuriating, but for your intended purposes it might not be a problem for you. This 'screensaver' only occurs AFTER installing the drivers (so demo machines in shops may seem ok cause they've just plugged the keyboard in w/o drivers and are showing the default icons only - nothing application specific). You need to install the drivers to setup your own icons on the OLEDs. Same behaviour on xp x32, vista x64, win7 x64

Pretty Keyboard....not so functional...,
By
This review is from: OCZ Sabre OLED Gaming Keyboard OCZKBSBRUS (Personal Computers)
Keyboard arrived today. Sturdy and seemingly well constructed. keys have a nice bounce and are easier for me to type on than the "laptop clone" keyboards. The OLED buttons are large and are allegedly programmable. The Product Description states that the "remaining keys" are amber backlit. I took this to mean the Non-OLED keys. Something is not right since the regular keys are dark as a tomb. The software will not install in Windows Vista 32, although is is supposed to be compatable. I am awaiting a response from tech support. If you purchase one of these, hold on to the packaging!!!
