Built very well, fast, silent - just a great drive.
Adam Wood
With the speed and quality of the Marvell controller, the Vector is a hard one to pass up for another SSD, regardless of brand.
Canis Majoris
In short, the Vector 150 is a fast and reliable drive that is worth considering.

*BUYER BEWARE* If you buy this drive from anyone on the Amazon Marketplace OCZ may VOID THE WARRANTY!!! I previously had the Vertex 4 and OCZ denied my warranty claim because I didn't buy directly from one of their "approved" distributors. I repeat, If you are not careful about who you buy from on Amazon Marketplace OCZ will void your warranty.

So I have 3 Macbooks in the house and only had an SSD in one of them, but wow stuck this in one of my older laptops (2011) and it's so much faster now.

Basically I cloned the drive with a SATA cable, http://www.amazon.com/Patuoxun-Converter-Adapter-Cable-Drive/dp/B008ASF5MC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1390924034&sr=1-1&keywords=sata+to+usb using a program called carbon copy cloner

Once I finished doing that replaced the drive, made sure TRIM was enabled. Laptop reboots in seconds, works beautifully.

I bought this drive after reading the positive reviews on Amazon. Another source had a 72 hour sale with a $20 rebate.

I replaced a 256GB drive in a HP 8530 running Window 7 32 bit. T-9600 at 2.8 GHz with 4 GB RAM.

I placed the Vector 150 into an external 3.5 drive enclosure connected via USB. Went into Disk Management to find the external drive. Downloaded the limited functionality Acronis True Image software and entered the enclosed license key. Selected the target and source drives. It took less than one hour to clone about 130GB. Removed the SSD from the enclosure and popped it into my laptop and launched it into hyperspace.

Start boot time went from 3 minutes and 26 seconds to 25 seconds. Word and other programs snap open instead of waiting minutes. Web pages load without delay.

Previously, the exhaust vent was noticeably hot on my machine. In fact one PC reviewer said they had burnt their leg while it was on their lap. Now, I can barely detect any warmth to the vent.

I had not timed prior battery life, but I expect enhanced performance there too.

Life is too short to drink warm beer or wait for your hard drive!

I love this drive. Built very well, fast, silent - just a great drive. I'm going to compare it against the three Samsung 840 series (previous generation) SSDs that I've been using for a while. While I think this is a great drive, I don't think it's the best value for all uses. A general note about SSD drives - they are silent, fast, and cost more per GB than platter drives. If you can afford one and care about speed and/or silence, I highly recommend them.

This is my fourth aftermarket SSD drive. The first three are the previous generation Samsung 840 series (two 250GB, one 120GB). Compared to the Samsung 840 Evo series (the current generation), this drive costs a bit more and has a bit less storage (I'm reviewing the 240GB model, and Samsung's are 250GB). I believe the selling point for that extra cost is greater reliability and long-term performance, but only time will tell if that's the case.

In a nutshell, I have no reservations recommending this drive in terms of performance and quality. Cost and weight are the only two possible hangups, and here's how I would go:
(*) If I were installing an SSD in a computer and leaving it there, I'd likely go with the Samsung based on the lower price and my good experience with that brand. That's not a cut against this drive, as it is very nice (hence, five stars). I'm just naturally cheap :D, and I'm not sure about the value versus the Samsungs if you aren't touching it often. Also, if you're putting a new drive in a laptop, the Samsungs weigh less (I'm assuming the current models don't weigh much if any more than the ones I have). If the extra cost doesn't bother you, then I have no reservations recommending this drive for a desktop computer.

It's fast and has a lot of room - now we can get 480 Gig for what I payed for 120 gig way back and for 256 just not long ago --- I like that it's rated for 50GB/day of host writes for 5 years under typical client workloads - this should last a log time -- and it's a MLCell config and not a TLCell which in it self it will make it last last a lot longer -- with over improvisation it will make the cells last longer - it shows 2.3 meg hour MTBF -- Cons: it does draw a little more power so it may not be the best for a laptop if you wanted to increase the battery life -- I rate it as a good buy if use yr puter a lot

OCZ has a bad rap because of lackluster drives of the past but they have corrected their issues and this is another winner. it's fast and it's cheaper than the 840pro...... slightly slower but i'm not a machine and all i personally see is performance, numbers based on benchmarks don't interest me too much. numbers based on how fat my wallet stays with high quality components is what matters to me.
