For all users buying the ssd mlc series drives with the samsung controller buyer beware of the firmware issues previous to and with one of the lastest firmware VBM18C1Q. I have 2 of the drives in raid 0 and intially there were very fast running xp pro sp3. I have only used this drive for testing, my conclusions are it is very strong in read write stats 145mb/sec, strong in read but the write stats are intailly extremely fast and performance degrades to average for a ssd drive, from 200mb/sec to 90mb/sec. The new firmware version(s) VBM18C1Q and up are supposed to repair the drives performance at idle, maybe? Samsung may release newer firmware updates, maybe?

[...]

The real question is are you buying this for performance or economy? Will Samsung release the firmware updates? For economy, size, power consumption, heat or noise I say yeah! But for High Performance over time? The jury is still out, degrading write speeds and the firmware issues, and a 1 year warranty is the monster in the closet. Do your research before you buy and how it will be used.

This is very good ssd, made my desktop much faster.
I bought this before the release of the new firmware with TRIM support. The update procedure is very easy and OCZ made a manual covering it step by step. Thanks!

Very good specs from the manufacturer website:
Read: Up to 220 MB/s
Write: Up to 125MB/s
Sustained Write: Up to 120MB/s
