Great Product - Excellent Warranty,
This review is from: ODL EZ10SCMNH 10 In. Aluminum Flashing Tubular Skylight Kit for Asphalt, Tile and Flat Roofs. (Misc.)
I called ODL a few days ago, after discovering that one of their 10 inch round plastic skylight roof flanges had disintergrated on my roof. The two skylights were installed by a roofer about 12 years ago. ODL long ago switched to metal flanges, so this was a warranty problem. When contacting ODL's representative on the phone, they immediately, professionally and cheerfully indicated they would promptly ship me 2 metal replacement flanges. Excellent customer service. They are a good company, and definitely back their products. Whenever I can buy or recommend their products in the future, I will do so.

Light up the room,
By Dozerman (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ODL EZ10SCMNH 10 In. Aluminum Flashing Tubular Skylight Kit for Asphalt, Tile and Flat Roofs. (Misc.)
I've found this ODL product to perform really well. Follow the directions carefully, especially on which direction to place the seam of the tubes and the lens positioning and you will be satisfied with the results. We live in Colorado, and after installing 4 of these in a home on a job, I found the amount of light put out was about equivalent to a 40 watt light bulb, but that is free light! You need to realize that to the average homeowner, one of these will take you almost a full day to install and it is a 2 person job at times. Good luck.

Solatube is a much better value,

This review is from: ODL EZ10SCMNH 10 In. Aluminum Flashing Tubular Skylight Kit for Asphalt, Tile and Flat Roofs. (Misc.)
This thing was cheaply made from top to bottom. The dome was flimsy and doesn't give the impression of holding up well over the long term. The light has a blue tint to it and it gives out a LOT less light than my neighbor's Solatube. He paid more and I thought they would all be about the same but there is a HUGE difference in construction quality and the amount and color of the light. I put in a second tubular skylight and went with Solatube ... well worth the extra money. Never had peace of mind that the ODL would hold up so I am actually considering replacing it with another Solatube. Do yourself a favor and go with the Solatube ... it's well worth the extra bucks.
