This is absolutely delicious. It tastes exactly like the buttery topping used in movie theatres. I've been ordering it through a popcorn supply site for ages and have only now thought to look for it on Amazon. This is by far the best price and with free Super Save shipping, you can't beat it!

This and a little of that excellent popcorn and nut salt from Wabash Valley Farms (also available on Amazon) and you will have the most delicious homemade popcorn known to man.

I just received this buttery topping and I am tickled pink! I just finished off my gallon of Mor Gold Plus, which is very tasty (and better for you) and I had had it before so knew what it was when I purchased it.

However, O'Dells Super Kist really is what they use in the theater. The taste & oiliness is spot on. Yep, I like the messy fingers to lick with salt all over them. That's the fun part of going to the movies.

The smell is yummy and makes you want to eat popcorn all day :) The theaters I go to this is exactly what they are using and I am very happy with it. Will purchase it again when it's gone.

About 3 months ago, I ceased using real butter for my popcorn and decided to try some of the commercial oils. There are a few that excel and a few that do not.

I have used approximately two pints of the furnished gallon container. What one gets is an oil with a mild yellow color. If one add salt, one gets a salty flavored oil, with little or no butter flavor. That is just fine in a theater on a one-time basis, but on a reapeated basis at home, it will not pass muster. I think that the product could stand improvement.

This is the same topping that is used in movie theaters. Unfortunately it is not available in a smaller size at a reasonable price. I learned about this from my local movie theater. The product needs to be heated before use and can be reheated an infinite number of times according to the manufacturer. They do not recommend using a microwave to directly heat the product. Here's my suggested way to heat it- buy a chocolate melter squeeze bottle (arts and crafts store) and pour some product into it (be sure to shake the large container). Microwave a pyrex cup of water and then immerse the chocolate melter bottle. Voila.

I have tried several buttery toppings over the past couple years looking for the one that would most imitate the stuff they use at the movie theater. I have been, for the most part, very disappointed ... until now! This is the one that REALLY makes a difference and adds that "fresh from the movie theater" taste. I'm so glad that I have what I want now so the search is finished and I can stop wasting money on stuff that does not taste good at all. I wrote to the manufacturer and they said the Super-Kist Two will stay fresh up to a year after opening so I have a long time to finish it up and don't have to worry about throwing out what's left of a partially used container.
BTW, the container has changed. It is now a white plastic jug and not the see-thru container you see here. What I do to make my "perfect" popcorn is use about 1 1/2 to 2 TBSPs of the coconut oil (by Paragon, sold here in the big jar) in my Stir Crazy with about 1/2 cup of Orville Redenbacher popcorn (the jar container stuff at the grocery store) and sprinkle it with 3/4 tsp of Flavacol (sold here). After it's popped I pour warmed up Super-Kist Two over the top and add a little pepper and shake it up. (yes, I like pepper on my popcorn!) Yum! Perfect!

Prior to ordering, I viewed only the first customer review of this product. Had I read the second, I would have likely reconsidered.
So for those of you patient enough to research this farther than I, my recommendation is to keep shopping.
The reviewer labeling it as "Adequate, but no cigar" is on the right track. This topping not only lacks the robust flavor of Orville Redenbacher's "Pour Over" popcorn topping;
This topping lacks even the marginally adequate flavor of my least favorite movie theater's toppings.

Put simply, this is a beautifully colored, hydrogenated oil with a very slight butter flavoring that does little more than make your popcorn oily. Your better off with a stick of butter.

I cannot recommend this product as I'm currently looking for an alternate use for the gallon I now possess.

Note: Unfortunately, Orville's Pour Over Popcorn topping is not yet offered as a separate item. They only sell it with their microwave popcorn so it's not an option for those of us who prefer to pop outside the microwave.

Taste like movie butter. Not the most healthy but in moderation its a winner. Friends that taste the popcorn i make always want more.

OK, you already know this stuff isn't good for you, but we're not talking about drinking it by the cupful. And you'll want a napkin handy for greasy fingers, but this stuff tastes really good. We do a movie night with guests on a regular basis. Odell's Popcorn Super-Kist II Topping is more flavorful than Orville Redenbacher's Topping, it's more convenient than real butter, and the price is reasonable. No heating necessary--just drizzle it on freshly popped popcorn, add salt if desired, and enjoy.

I use this topping along with my freshly popped corn from my Maxi-Matic machine and it's just like the movies!!

If you're looking for the movie theater taste THIS is what will give you that!

Well, our family eats a lot of popcorn and we recently made the switch from going through bags of microwave popcorn to using an air popper. Honestly, I never realized how hard it is to get a good popcorn flavoring with air-popped popcorn; but, after trying lots of different toppings, we finally settled on this Super-Kist II topping.

This stuff tastes excellent! It comes in a big jug, but we eat a lot so I suspect we'll go through it pretty quickly. Also, as you can probably imagine, air-popped popcorn will never taste exactly like the movies - but this provides a very good flavor and gives the salt something to stick to.

What we do is cook 1/2 cup of popcorn and then dribble 2 table-spoons of this topping over it with a light dash of salt. Then we mix it up really well and chomp away!

The only negative thing I have to say about it is I wish it had the nutrition info printed on the label - but I'm not knocking a star since the Amazon picture has that.

If you're looking for a great tasting flavoring for your popcorn, I don't think you'll be disappointed by this!
