1.0 out of 5 stars This product is a defective., February 8, 2009
By Steve (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OEM MOTOROLA BR50 Battery RAZR V3 V3c V3m V3e V3i V3t (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I ordered several items from Bargaincell in March 2008. I ordered the BR50 and a 3 piece combo of battery chargers. The chargers consisted of a desktop, vehicle, and ac plug in. The chargers are all fine and an outstanding value. The battery is another matter. It appears to be authentic when comparing it with the OEM battery. When I charged it and put it in the telephone the charge never lasted more than two days. If I made any calls on the phone, the battery would last maybe a day. Since the cost was $4.65 plus $2.98 for shipping I thought it would be a waste of time to send it back. The battery has four contacts. At this time I do not know if the B50 has two or three cells inside. I checked the contacts with a volt ohms meter after charging the battery fully. One of the contacts showed no charge. The OEM battery showed all contacts providing a charge. This indicates a defective manufacture or a poor counterfeit. I decided to keep the thing and use it to save the new OEM battery. After using this battery for about 9 months another problem surfaced. The battery lid on the telephone started to pop off. The lid would not click and close properly. I was going to return the phone to Motorola within the warranty period because the battery lid would not close properly. After about two months of this aggravation, I took out the Bargaincell "bargain" and put the OEM battery back in the phone. I was surprised to find the battery lid fitting perfectly on the phone again. Carefully examining the Bargaincell battery revealed a slight bulge in the center on the top label side. This company is selling a piece of garbage. Is the battery a factory reject or a counterfeit? Only Bargaincell knows.

1.0 out of 5 stars COunterfeit battery AGAIN! This time from The OEM Shop, August 23, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: OEM MOTOROLA BR50 Battery RAZR V3 V3c V3m V3e V3i V3t (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This is the 3rd "OEM" battery I bought via Amazon Marketplace -- as with the others, it was terrible. I ordered form the OEM shop a BR50. They sent a BR56 which is supposed to be even better with 3 hours talk time. It did not last 30 minutes after a complete overnight charge. Nowhere as long as the battery I am trying to replace which lasts over an hour instead of the original 2 1/2 hours.

OEM sent a counterfeit fake battery --- not OEM. How can you tell? Because Motorola OEM batteries are made in Japan. These say clearly that they are made in china. I had the same problem and returned the same battery from Wireless Phone Accessories and Batteries4Less.

AMAZON_- you should be screening these sellers and addressing these issues. There are a ton of posts under every single one of the Motorola Razr battery listing that say they got bad or counterfeit batteries.

Theses companies make their money by selling junk, counting on the Amazon customer not to feel it is worth the hassle to return it. For every one I have to return I lose an hour of my time. My time is worth more than th $10 I get ripped off for. But I do it anyway b/c hopefully at some point AMAZON is going to take responsibility for the conduct of their market sellers. AMAZON's new logo is to become the most customer centric company on earth. Well AMAZON, you can start here: Bargain Cell -- which is one of the worst offenders, Wireless Phone Accessories and now the OEM Shop -- what a joke for a name for the last one since clearly they KNOW they are selling counterfeit batteries.

I paid $30 for one from batteries4less hoping to get the real deal -- I got the exact same batter I got from the OEM shop -- the exact same counterfeit. So it has nothing to do with the price paid. Just dishonest online sellers.

2.0 out of 5 stars So so replacement, March 23, 2009
By Adam James (Nebraska, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OEM MOTOROLA BR50 Battery RAZR V3 V3c V3m V3e V3i V3t (Wireless Phone Accessory)
As compatible battery replacements go, this one is only so-so. I realize the cost was less than $5 so the fact that it does not work well is not a huge problem...sometimes you do get what you pay for.

OEM replacement from Motorola is $35 in our area, so taking a flier on a cheap replacement seemed a noble experiment. Unfortunately, this replacement does not hold a charge for as long as the 2-year old, OEM battery it replaced. The battery does work, but needs to be recharged daily.

Time to try another replacement from a different manufacturer.
